Did you know people living with diabetes are eligible for a FREE flu vaccine across the UK?

If you have diabetes and get the flu, you are more at risk of being unwell for longer and developing more serious complications like pneumonia. It can also make diabetes harder to manage.

Get in touch with your GP or local community pharmacy to book an appointment. To find out more about diabetes and the flu, including what to do in your region, head to https://orlo.uk/flu-jab_c8INr

We were delighted to join the General Assembly for the launch of the PEACETIME project at Ulster University, Derry πŸŽ‰

As proud Associate Partners of the project, we’re thrilled to be part of this €10 million cross-border initiative that’s set to transform care for those living with obesity across the Island of Ireland.

Over the next 4 years, PEACETIME will support 9,000 people living with type 2 diabetes in selected cross-border areas through a 12-month, community-based obesity treatment – the first of its kind in Northern Ireland!

This isn’t just about local impact – it’s about building healthier, more resilient communities across the region and beyond.

Huge thanks to PEACEPLUS and SEUPB for supporting this project πŸ™Œ

A huge thank you to Women Centre Derry for welcoming us to deliver a Diabetes Awareness Workshop πŸ’™

We had some great conversations about the signs and symptoms of diabetes, how to reduce risk, and where to find support. It was fantastic to see so much interest and engagement from the group.

If your group, workplace, or organisation would like us to deliver a Diabetes Awareness Talk tailored to your community, please get in touch at communityteamni@diabetes.org.uk. Together, we can raise awareness and tackle health inequalities across Northern Ireland.
