Santosha Yoga Studio is a totally dedicated yoga space located in the `Historic Quarter` in the heart of Lisburn. We are a full time, fully equipped yoga studio where students can learn about and practice yoga or train to become a yoga teacher. Whether you are a complete beginner with no knowledge of yoga or someone who would like to expand your practice then we have a class that will suit your ab

ility. We have also built relationships with other yoga practitioners, therapists and health professionals to offer the best service possible. A broad range of alternative and complementary therapies are available to promote every aspect of your physical, mental and emotional well – being. This holistic approach harmonizes and integrates all levels of our multi-dimensional being to promote `wholeness` - health in the deepest sense of the word.

Our Spring '25 cohort have successfully completed their 200 Hour yoga teacher training course this weekend - a huge Congratulations to each new teacher 👏👏👏

This final completion day saw our students deliver their one hour self-practice lesson plan, based on the course syllabus ( and under the watchful eye of Paddy Hamill ), as well as a final practical teaching assessment.

They can now start taking classes in their own areas, helping to further build our yoga community locally, offering more people the opportunity to reap the many benefits of yoga - effort worth making!

We then headed down to 'Spice' restaurant for a celebratory end of course meal - always tasty!

Anatomy - Day (2) on weekend 6, with Dr Paul Rutherford ( ably assisted by 'Bones' ), on our 200 Hour teacher training course - continued in-depth learning of key anatomy fundamentals which adds real depth to our students personal knowledge and understanding.

This knowledge will help guide and inform our trainees instructions to their furure students so that they teach from a place of knowledge, insight and depth.

Weekend (6) on our Autumn '25 200 Hour teacher training course and we commenced this mornings session with Paddy Hamill ( lead tutor and course director ) putting our students through their yoga and pranayama paces...progressively building strength and stamina...essential work which consolidates the gains already made and provides a basis for further development.

In todays Yoga Wisdom session with Suzanne Greenwood we took a look at another element of what's known as the subtle anatomy in yoga - the three gunas - what they are and how they relate to yoga at a practical and energetic level.
We then followed this up with an in-depth look at the meaning of the Gayatri mantra as well as a group practical chanting it.

A pretty full on day so a nice rest for everyone this evening and then they'll be back on their mats for Day (2) tomorrow morning...🙏😁

We had a fantastic day of asana and pranayama practice on our Spring '25 200 Hour yoga teacher training course today - the last full weekend before the final completion day.
We'd an in-depth look at the practical delivery of Sarvangasana / Shoulderstand ( The Queen👑 of Asana ) using props and partner work under the supervision of Paddy Hamill - Santosha director and lead tutor ).
After some lunch we spent the afternoon focussing on peer to peer and group teaching practice - effort worth making to acquire the skillset needed to safely and confidently teach yoga!

Back on our mats in the morning for more learning, growing and sharing...🙏😁

Santosha Yoga Studio offers a broad range of yoga classes and yoga teacher training courses as well as specialized workshops by visiting teachers. It is a totally dedicated yoga space located in the `Historic Quarter` in the heart of Lisburn.

We are a full time, fully equipped yoga studio where students can learn about and practice yoga or train to become a yoga teacher. Whether you are a complete beginner with no knowledge of yoga or someone who would like to expand your practice then we have a class that will suit your ability. Beginners, Mixed Ability, Pregnancy, Mum and Baby, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga and Jivamukti are just some examples of our extensive range of classes. We have built relationships with other yoga practitioners, therapists and health professionals to offer the best service possible.
