Colds and flu share some symptoms, but flu is usually more severe and comes on suddenly.

✅ Cold: Runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, mild cough
✅ Flu: High temperature, aches and pains, headache, fatigue
If you’re feeling unwell:

Rest and stay hydrated
Speak to your pharmacist for advice
Contact NHS 111 if you’re unsure or symptoms worsen

We’re now seven days into our countdown to Christmas daily posts, thank you to everyone who’s been following along as we count down to Christmas Day. 🎄

We can confirm that, after many years of dedicated service, Dr Penny Atkinson has decided to move on from Rosedean House Surgery.

Dr Penny Atkinson, Clinical Lead at the surgery, commented: “It has been a privilege to serve the Liskeard community for the last 22 years. I am pleased that the practice is in safe hands with the One Medicare team and excited to see the ongoing improvements and investment in the practice and building.”

Rachel Beverley-Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer of OneMedical Group, said: “We would like to thank Penny for her many years of commitment and service to the community. Her position will be covered by group resource while we begin the recruitment process for a new Clinical Lead to join the practice.”

One Medicare remains focused on delivering high-quality, accessible primary care services and continuing planned improvements to the practice for the benefit of patients and the wider community.

🤧 Feeling Under the Weather? Help Stop the Spread This Winter 🤧

Respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, are on the rise. If you feel unwell:
✅ Try to stay at home and avoid contact with others.
✅ Use tissues to Catch it, Bin it, Kill it – catch coughs and sneezes, bin used tissues, and wash your hands regularly.

If you need to visit the surgery and have a respiratory illness, please wear a mask if you can. This helps protect patients and staff and keeps everyone safer.

❄️ As Rosedean House Surgery and OneMedicare welcome December 2025, we will be posting at least once every working day until Christmas Day.

🎄Today we want to remind all of our patients to make sure that they are ordering/collecting their prescriptions as early as possible this December.

🗓️ The last date for ordering prescriptions for a guaranteed collection before Christmas is on Monday 8th December.

The surgery and dispensary will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year. Please note because they land on a Thursday and Friday, there will be four consecutive days when Rosedean House will be closed.
