I had the pleasure of talking to John Acres this morning on his breakfast show on BBC Radio Devon and he asked the question, “How can we be better at dealing with death?” And that’s a good question. My answer was this, “Don’t be the person who crosses the street to avoid facing someone who is grieving. Be the person that looks them in the eyes and says, I’m so very sorry. Then allow them to talk about the person who has died.” Let’s not shy away from death. Let’s get better at responding to it.
