Delving into Awareness, I couldn’t not include this image, which shows the depth of our mind.

The Conscious Mind equates to just 5% of our mind, with subconscious & unconscious equating to a massive 95%! This is where all our programming; beliefs; emotions & memories sit. In actual fact the subconscious/unconscious mind is running the show & we are not even aware of it. It’s like having software running that we seem to have no control over!

This is where somatic work comes in, we work with the 95% of the mind, through a body-up approach, to bring the hidden parts of us to the conscious mind. Then, and only then, can we process; integrate & make conscious changes that are right for us.

The Higher Self will start to organically develop as we work with the ‘shadow’ parts. We will naturally find our intuition kick in, the higher vibration of love & joy will emerge and we can observe ourselves & others without judgement.

Awareness - Step 2 of my Framework 4 Change....

As you continue with daily practices for balance, you will find that thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, images & memories will arise. These are not the enemy, however uncomfortable they feel. They are hidden parts that are arising from the subconscious to be heard and felt. (More on the subconscious in my next post).

Also, ideas and creativity can arise in these moments, giving you clarity on how to move forward. This is where your intuition can kick in (guess what, my framework below was born from these moments of stillness). Maybe your intuition (like mine) had been buried and is just waiting to be heard and trusted! From this space you start to learn when your intuition is speaking and when it is fear speaking - there is a big difference!

This is just a small part of awareness and how it becomes a catalyst for change.

‘I don’t have time to meditate’ ......

This is what a client said to me this week. She pronounced that she is an adrenaline ju**ie and thrives on pressure. All sounds fine, until it isn’t. For this lady, she has developed a rare auto-immune disease which has made her very poorly, yet still she puts pressure on herself to perform. Her consultant has even advised that it is her nervous system in fight/flight!

The thing is, meditation isn’t for everyone, well not the sitting still cross leg type of meditation, but you can still bring in quiet reflection times into your life:-

Walking in nature

Mindfulness

Breathework

Listening to music

Micro breaks during the day to just be

Journalling

Tapping

Just 5 mins a day consistently WILL make a difference.

This is what real BALANCE is, the consistent reflective daily practices. Cos small changes make big differences.

What does balance mean to you?

Here’s a fact about me, I’ve always struggled with my balance and coordination. I didn’t start walking until I was nearly two as I probably felt safer shuffling around on my bum! Even now, I will fall over at the drop of a hat 😩

This became my driver to work harder than everyone else to ‘prove’ myself and mental and emotional balance went right out of the window 😢. I would often feel stupid due to my lack of coordination and overtly felt like I didn’t fit in. (If I fall now, these feelings can still arise).

With somatic practices I have learnt balance comes from within, and I can bring kindness and compassion to those parts of me that felt awkward and different.

Why is always so difficult to stick to our goals? We start off with all good intentions and within a few weeks we are back to our old habits 🙃

Why does this keep on happening? Because our brains and nervous systems prefer the familiar, even if it isn’t good for us! The good news is that your brain can be rewired if you practice the right techniques.

That is exactly why I created the framework below, working with the nervous system (balance); processing emotions & identifying limiting beliefs (awareness); somatic processing/rewiring (movement); building self belief & authentic values (connection) leading to expansion and achievement of goals (growth).

With this framework, you will not only achieve your goals with ease, but you will see improvements in all areas of your life. With consistency and practice, the magic really starts to happen 🌟 And it works over and over again!

Just like doing workouts to build up physical strength, you can build up resilience for those difficult times. It takes practice, but bit by bit you notice yourself responding differently to life’s challenges AND you able to bounce back quickly and calmly. (Interesting fact, you are also supporting your immune system through these practices).

12 months since leaving my job as a Sales Manager - where has that time gone!

So much has changed in the last year, since leaving corporate. I now coach everyday and love every minute of it ❤️. However the biggest change has been in myself …. Life can be one long balancing act, with so many tabs open in our mind at once - it’s no wonder that many people are experiencing brain fog and constant fatigue!

When our outer world is chaotic then our nervous system picks up signals of danger and sends our inner state into fight/flight or freeze. This is where disrupted digestion, sleep, hormones and brain fog occur. We are not giving our bodies time to heal and repair.

Although you may not believe it, we do have influence over the outer chaos. We can bring in signals of safety and connection to our nervous system, so that it conducts our inner world from a place of balance and calm.

From that place, everything changes AND we have the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at us.
