Scrolling though my photos and stumbled across these !

I worked here before I came to The Retreat, right on Kingsland Road, in the heart of Shoreditch. Busy as it was, we somehow we managed to create the most peaceful little haven in the basement called 'My Treatment Rooms' and we really were tucked away from the hustle and bustle of London life.

I remember telling my mum I wanted Ken & Barbie (or Action Man) to grace the shop window - our very own models living the dream. Mum, being the creative soul that she was, made every outfit that adorned that little window.

It brought such joy ! People would stop, smile, take photos and laugh. My mates in the shop would re-arrange them into new fun positions - yes even cheeky ones too ! 😉

They were such a special times, full of creativity, fabulous people, laughter and kindness.

We were all in stitches when 'Time' magazine later ran a piece Ken & Barbie as their props ! Of course we can't prove they 'borrowed' our little idea... but we knew, because that window was photographed endlessly.

It's lovely to realise that each chapter in life becomes part of the journey that shapes who we are, for me this one continues to inspire me, a reminder of creativity, community and the joy of finding calm in the chaos.

Did you know I probably use around 80 stones during a treatment - each one has a purpose and reason for being used. A crystal here, some marble there and goodness knows what in between.

If you're curious about how the stones can help you, just get in touch. A temperature based therapy (geo-thermal therapy) can be the change you need to get results, switch up your treatment or add a luxurious touch.
