Yas! We managed to track down Steven, he left the city with his mother at peak of the pandemic and he’s now back in school. Unfortunately Steven has HIV ( mother to child transmitted at birth). He has access to medication but not other essentials as mum is unemployed and not very well either. We are seeking sponsors to support the family with basic needs, please if you’re able to help please contact here or direct message on Facebook to make arrangements.
Thank you

Thank God Grace is fully back to school, uniforms all sorted and very smart 😊. Unfortunately the pandemic has increased the pressure on families in Uganda and worldwide and young girls like Grace are being given away for marriage by their parents but it’s the efforts our sponsors that keep some of these young girls in school. Please sponsor a child for £20 a month to equipe them with basic education and save them from child marriages. Thank you

When Ron came across Wilson seven years ago he was isolated, frustrated and couldn’t communicate much. Now he’s in his final year of primary at a school for deaf children! He’s doing really well, loves football and nearly as tall as Ron Tumusiime now! Well done Wilson, we’re so proud of you! 👍🏼💙🫶🏿⚽️

I need to polish my sign language to communicate better with Wilson, I’m proud he can now communicate effectively, deaf school has been great for him and this is his final year of primary school. Without a sponsor, this wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you So much

Good to see Trust at his school, he has really grown. I also got a chance to see my little friend Fortunate, Trust’s sister she’s 14 years old now, I used to be her therapist. Mum has done really well not to give up on her. Fortunate has cerebral palsy but unfortunately she’s not getting therapy anymore and has severally low muscle tone and is very stiff which is heartbreaking for me to see.🥲

Nice to see Barbara at her secondary school and the twins( Waswa and and Nakato). Ruth’s old trainers came in handy for Waswa and Nakato got some money to buy herself better school. Waswa loves football and got lucky football boots I ordered online and couldn’t fit me. Lovely day in the sweltering heat and dusty Kampala.

Long-time no-post!

With schools open in Uganda, Ron is taking some time to check on sponsored children. This has been ticking along in the background and we’re thankful to our sponsors who make school possible for these young people.

Been to see Sarah and managed to locate Grace and she’s now enrolled at secondary school in her neighbourhood.Uniforms, books and pens paid for, Grace will start secondary school tomorrow. 📚 🖊 🏫

After nearly two of lockdown, schools have fully reopened in Uganda this week but as exciting as it sounds it’s also nerve-racking for both the children and their parents/carers. We will continue to support our sponsored kids and sponsors will be updated accordingly as our representative in Uganda tracks them down over the next few days. Thank you very much for your continued support.

Great to see families receiving their gifts from DoubleMe sponsorship. We sponsor a small amount of children in schools which are known to us. The children are from the poorest families and would otherwise be likely to drop out of school.

This is where the money from Ron Tumusiime’s sponsored half-marathon went which lots of you supported. Well done to Ron and thank you for making it possible for all these tummies to be full!

Currently in Uganda, it’s only those in exam classes who are in school and returning next term.

We sent a gift for families with children sponsored to ease the pressure over the Christmas period. Here is headteacher Juliet with a few families ready to take their chickens home! 🐓

Thank you for your continued support! 🙌🏼⭐️💕
