This project was set up with the help of Community Funding from The National Lottery, donations from our supporters and time, effort and passion donated by our volunteers. If you need help or advice about dementia, please contact us and we will make every effort to provide you with the information you need, or, refer you to those who can. Welcome Me is being lead by Retain Wellbeing CIC, a not for profit Community Integrated Company. Retain Wellbeing CIC has been in operation serving the community since 2016. Their vision is to prevent isolation and loneliness in adults. To reduce the stigma around mental health and dementia and to create communities which recognise their assets and value everyone for their contribution. To help us continue with this vision, please visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and select Retain Wellbeing CIC as your beneficiary. Every time you go through this web site to purchase items on line, we will get a donation from the company you shopped with at no cost to you!

For all different kinds of reasons, people find us, work with us, help and support us. Sometimes it's in person, sometimes it's by donating a bag of glue sticks or chocolates and sometimes it's a financial gift. All these generous ways of supporting us means we can carry on longer helping others to have fun in this moment, at this time, with people who get it.

Thank you to all our supporters- you know who you are. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Even more good news! The wonderful Cameron has organised it so that we are the beneficiaries of the fundraising activities in Costa Coffee Heswall! If you are out shopping why not pop in to see if you could bag yourself a free drink/snack and raise money for us while you are at it? โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿซ–โ˜•๐Ÿช

***Update! Nathan raised ยฃ420 for our groups. We are so grateful for all his efforts!! ***

We are lucky to be supported by lots of family members who recognise the great things we get up to and the benefits that go with them.
This is Nathan and his Nan and Grandad have been coming to Welcome Me for over 3 years! He gathered sponsors to raise money for us when he ran in the Chester marathon this weekend. He did it in 4 hours and 6 minutes!! ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Thank you Nathan, you did yourself and us proud ๐Ÿ˜‡

We have all had a great time turning our wall tree into a lovely autumnal tree here at WelcomeMe.
๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ„
A fantastic joint effort by all 3 groups, working together to create a beautiful mural for us to enjoy.
The final result is amazing.
Well done everyone.

How gorgeous do these tealight holders look? ๐Ÿ˜

A couple of weeks ago we started to make some tealight holders using cotton wool pads soaked in a paint and glue mixture which were then arranged over the rim of a reusable cup.

We had to wait a week for them to dry but we think they were worth the wait. Of course, for safety reasons they are only to be used with battery powered tealights, but they are still incredibly effective ๐Ÿ’•

If you would like to come along and join us for fun and friendship then please get in touch.

It's been a busy couple of weeks here at WelcomeMe, so busy that we forgot to take lots of photos of our lovely groups having fun.

But here are a few that we did remember to take - one week we took part in our very own Wacky Races. We picked our vehicle, coloured them in and created our cars before a very competitive race to the finish line.

Last week we made flower-shaped tealight holders - we soaked cotton wool pads in coloured liquid and arranged them around the rim of a cup. We now have to wait until this week to see how well they've dried so we can put a battery-operated tealight in them. We are confident they are going to be gorgeous.
