This project was set up with the help of Community Funding from The National Lottery, donations from our supporters and time, effort and passion donated by our volunteers. If you need help or advice about dementia, please contact us and we will make every effort to provide you with the information you need, or, refer you to those who can. Welcome Me is being lead by Retain Wellbeing CIC, a not for profit Community Integrated Company. Retain Wellbeing CIC has been in operation serving the community since 2016. Their vision is to prevent isolation and loneliness in adults. To reduce the stigma around mental health and dementia and to create communities which recognise their assets and value everyone for their contribution. To help us continue with this vision, please visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and select Retain Wellbeing CIC as your beneficiary. Every time you go through this web site to purchase items on line, we will get a donation from the company you shopped with at no cost to you!

This week we had fun celebrating
🍀St Patrick's Day🍀

Sandy (one of our Thursday afternoon volunteers) got into the spirit of the day 😂
We played Irish tunes to do our Movement To Music to and then we had a couple of very competitive games of Fill Your Pot With Gold. This involved rolling a dice and covering the corresponding number on our pot with the correct piece of gold. The winner got a bar of chocolate and everyone else got a consultation prize, so there were plenty of happy, smiley faces at the end of the session.
If you'd like more information about what WelcomeMe is all about, please see the last couple of photos.

Spring was certainly in the air last week. Firstly we decorated some plant pots before filling them with soil and some beautiful primroses.

Our lovely friends at Follyfields Nursery supplied us with the soil & primroses - we'd like to thank them for their generosity and for supporting what we do here at WelcomeMe.

If you'd like to get some fabulous plants for your own garden, click the link below and it will take you to the Follyfields Nursery page

In honour of the Chinese New Year being the "Year of the Fire Horse" we created our own. It was a slightly challenging activity but, with the help and support of our wonderful volunteers, everyone managed to create their own unique Fire Horse to take home with them.

If you have read all the way to this part of the post could I ask you to please share this with every local Facebook group you are part of. Your shared post might just be the lifeline that someone needs xx

💕 Last week we made gorgeous heart-shaped tealight holders, complete with a hidden handwritten message, so they could be given to someone on Valentine's Day to show how much they are loved and appreciated 💕

We may have been a bit quiet on social media recently but we've been as busy as ever at WelcomeMe.
We recently did an activity that had to be done over 2 weeks. Week 1 - we prepared some hanging planters by punching holes around the rim, threading some string through and then painting the container in whatever colour took our fancy.
Week 2 - the paint on our planters is now dry so we decorated them with stickers and sparkles, then filled them with soil and finished them off with a lovely little viola which will hopefully grow and flower over the coming weeks.

🎉Welcome to 2026🎉

We have had a busy January here at WelcomeMe
Our 1st week back saw us all make some lovely bird feeders to take home for the birds in our gardens.
Things got a little bit messy, but getting messy means you're having a great time 😁
