Our lovely team will be at Anfield Crematorium as usual this Mother’s Day, Sunday 15th March, between 11am and 1pm and will be on hand to talk with those who need a listening ear.

Mother's Day can be hard for lots of reasons; it might be your first one without your mum, the first since you lost your child, or that special mum-like person in your life has been gone a number of years. A short service of reflection will be held in the chapel at 12:00 noon, where we will come together to remember all of the amazing women in our lives who have helped shape us to be who we are today.

Our memorial trees will be there for you to hang your personalised messages on, and we will collect names of loved ones to be read out during the service.

The service will be live-streamed by Obitus for anyone who is unable to attend.

A reminder that The Good Funeral Company will be hosting our first ever "Death Café" in https://welsfordbistro.co.uk/ at Liverpool Cathedral this evening 💚

💚 What is a Death Café?
A Death Café is a small, informal community gathering where people meet over coffee to talk openly about death, dying, grief and loss in a relaxed café setting.
💚 Purpose of the event
The aim is to break down the taboos around talking about death and make these conversations more natural, social and supportive.
💚 What we will talk about
Conversations may include bereavement and grief, what to do when a loved one dies, planning a funeral, or thinking ahead about your own wishes.
💚 Who is it for?
Open to anyone in the community! There is no agenda, belief system, or pressure to share personal experiences. Just listen, chat or ask questions.
💚 How it works
The session is gently facilitated by our local funeral celebrants who will guide the conversation, helping to keep the space respectful, welcoming and inclusive.
💚 More information can be found in our brand new "Events" section on our website- https://goodfuneralcompany.org.uk/services/events/

💚 All welcome! 💚

Emotional Health Day is an ideal time for us all to think about emotional health: what it is, why it is important and how we can all take small steps to develop it, to enable not only us, but those around us, to thrive.

As Funeral Celebrants, we see every day how deeply emotional health connects with death, dying and grief. When someone we love dies, life can feel overwhelming. Having the skills, language and support to process those emotions can make an enormous difference — not by taking away the pain, but by helping us carry it.

Through meaningful, personal farewells, our celebrants create space for stories to be shared, tears to be shed, and love to be honoured. These moments matter. They are part of healing. They are part of emotional health.

Today we're proud to support The Centre for Emotional Health in raising a collective voice for prioritising emotional wellbeing. Because emotional health isn’t only about coping in crisis — it’s about building resilience, compassion and understanding before the hardest moments arrive.

Today, on World Day of Social Justice, we are reminded that justice is not only something debated in headlines or seen in the news.

Justice is something we live out in everyday human moments — especially when we are grieving.

At The Good Funeral Company, social justice begins with a simple belief that guides our work every single day: Every person deserves dignity in death, and every family deserves fairness in grief.

Families come to us with different stories, different resources, different faiths, different barriers, and different vulnerabilities. Grief can magnify these differences in ways that may not be obvious in the moment. Our responsibility is not to judge those differences — but to respond to them with compassion, equity, and care.

Bereavement is one of life’s most fragile moments. Some families arrive with financial security and clear wishes. Others arrive overwhelmed, isolated, or navigating hardship.

Justice to us means:
• Presenting the same options, transparently and without assumption.
• Respecting traditions and rituals with care.
• Ensuring marginalised voices are heard and honoured.
• Advocating for families who may otherwise feel unheard.

Death does not discriminate — and neither do we.

Social justice is not abstract. It is practical. It is present in how we speak. It is visible in the inclusive spaces we create. It is upheld in every act of fairness we deliver.

Today, we recommit ourselves to ensuring that funeral care is not a privilege — it is a right grounded in dignity, equality, and compassion.

In death, as in life, everyone matters.
