TATT or "Tired All The Time" is something many of my clients present with. Once medical reasons are ruled out, there are a number of things that we work on to relieve TATT:
- time management for work and relaxation
- nutrition to provide good fuel for the body and mind
- becoming stress resiliant
- encourage a strong mindset
- movement for the body
- achieve restorative rest and sleep
The stronger you can get your body and mind, the easier you will be able to cope with the modern world, and that includes a pandemic!

April 2021 is Stress Awareness Week. In a recent survey 65% of people said they felt more stressed than usual. The main reasons given were missing family and friends, and concerns for when things get back to normal. This doesn't have to be the case. Try to do the following each day and to take charge of you mental health
- connect with people around you
- be active
- notice and appreciate what matters to you
- keep learning
- give a little of your time and energy

As we approach another step towards the easing of lockdown, I am working with clients on developing self compassion. By developing self compassion towards ourselves we can improve our mental health wellbeing. When you find yourself being critical of yourself try asking how a close friend or family member would say it to you. Reframe self criticism as self compassion and see how it changes your mental health wellbeing.

Have you been feeling lonely during lockdown? This is completely normal, and what's more, it's to be expected.

Everyone feels lonely at some point, even if they're surrounded by lots of people. Feeling lonely is different to being alone.

The best way to tackle loneliness is to connect with other people. Don't forget to reach out to friends and family to check they're well, and look after yourself, too!

A co-dependent relationship is when someone will make a lot of sacrifices to please their partner. They are very dependent on approval for their own self-worth. This dependency may have been amplified during lockdown as people have been spending a lot more time with their partners. You can only give so much before you start to suffer yourself and the need to be needed becomes embedded with the fear of being abandoned.

Today’s world needs compassionate, kind and empathic people. However you need to receive it back in return. This concept is often difficult for people who are codependent because they are often in one sided relationships. This causes 2 problems:
1. You are separated from your true self.
2. You are depriving the people you are sheltering the lessons they need to grow and learn from.

Our stress levels at the moment are at an all time high. We may be stressed about the fragility of our health, or that of our loved ones. Some of us have lost our jobs, or are adapting to working in new ways.

Although you may be stressed, there are many ways to help yourself cope. Know you are not alone - talk to a friend or relative, you may be surprised to find they are feeling the same. At this time of uncertainty it is more important than ever to reach out to friends, neighbours and strangers and help each other out.
