🌍 This World Earth Day, we're thinking about the world our children are growing up in.

Because health doesn’t start in a hospital
it starts in our homes, our communities and the environments around us every day.

This study is working with families to better understand how early life experiences, surroundings and opportunities shape children’s health as they grow.

From cleaner air and safe neighbourhoods
to strong family connections and supportive communities every small factor plays a role in building healthier futures.

Together, we are learning what helps children thrive and together we can create lasting change.

Happy World Earth Day 🌱

Sometimes the best conversations start over a cup of tea ☕

Research in the early 20th century found that regular rest breaks improved worker productivity, leading to the introduction of scheduled tea breaks in many workplaces 🤔

This National Tea Day, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the importance of slowing down, connecting and supporting healthy development in children as they grow up in Liverpool, something at the heart of our research study.

Because just like a good brew, progress takes time, patience and the right ingredients.

Are you a tea or coffee person? ☕

Liverpool has the worst health outcomes than other parts of the UK, but why?

We recently met up with Hannah from to see what she thought about C-GULL, hannah is doing so much for mums in liverpool from running free community events to wellbeing and baby massage sessions. Hannah is also working with local businesses to offer mums a discount card to help encourage getting out and meeting other mums but without any financial burden.

With our study we are aiming to improve overall health outcomes by gathering as much information as possible from as early in pregnancy, this then allows us to see any patterns or trends in the data about things such as the environment we live in or the food we eat and exercise we do.

If you are having your baby at the and would like to provide any optional samples or answers some questionnaires to help enrich this data for our city and our families future, speak with your midwife or contact a member of the CGULL team and we can make your appointment with one of our research midwives 💛

International Plant Appreciation Day 🌿

Today is all about looking after the environment and helping things grow in the right way and it got us thinking about how small, consistent steps can make a big difference over time.

In our research study, we’re focused on supporting healthy development and understanding how the right care at the right time can lead to better long-term outcomes a bit like nurturing a plant from seed to full growth.

It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t happen overnight, but with the right guidance and support, great results can grow

What small steps have made the biggest difference in your child's development?

Every leaf counts ☘️

Just like the shamrock’s leaves, research is built on different parts working together participants, researchers and collaboration.

This St Patrick’s Day we’re celebrating the people who make discoveries possible and help advance research in women’s and children’s health.

Because great discoveries aren’t about luck they’re about community and curiosity

During Neurodiversity Celebration Week we celebrate the many ways people think, learn and experience the world in research.

Representation matters, understanding the health of women and children means learning from a wide range of experiences and perspectives.
