"I nearly didn't come because I didn't think I was bad enough."
That's one of the things I hear most. And it's usually from someone who's been struggling for months.
There's no minimum level of suffering you have to reach before counselling is allowed. You don't need a diagnosis. You don't need a specific event to point to. Feeling like something's off is enough.
