📍 We’re Hiring – Funeral Director
David Clegg Funeral Directors are looking for a compassionate and professional Funeral Director to join our team at our Litherland office.
This is an important role supporting families through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Role Overview
You will manage all aspects of funeral arranging, administration and operational duties while providing exceptional care to bereaved families.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to first calls, including out-of-hours and weekends (rota)
• Meet with families to arrange funerals and pre-paid funeral plans
• Coordinate transfers and care of the deceased
• Liaise with clergy, celebrants, crematoria, cemeteries and suppliers
• Oversee funeral services on the day
• Prepare funeral documentation and manage administration
• Maintain high professional and regulatory standards
What We’re Looking For
• Previous funeral directing or funeral administration experience preferred
• NAFD or SAIF qualifications beneficial (not essential)
• Excellent organisational and IT skills
• Compassionate, professional and discreet
• Ability to work independently
• Full UK driving licence required
Working Hours & Salary
🕘 Monday – Friday | 9am – 5pm
📞 On-call rota (evenings/weekends)
💷 £30,000 – £33,000 per year
🌴 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays (28 total)
