Helping you through the most amazing journey🤰
✨ Benefits -
• Relief from Muscle Aches & Joint Pain: The shifting centre of gravity and hormonal changes can cause lower back pain, hip pain, neck stiffness, and sciatica. Massage targets and releases tension in these overworked muscles.
• Reduced Swelling (Edema): Increased pressure on blood vessels often leads to swelling in the legs, ankles, and feet. Gentle, upward strokes help stimulate lymphatic drainage and improve circulation
• Better Sleep: By relieving physical discomfort and reducing stress hormones, massage helps calm the nervous system, leading to improved sleep quality and reduced insomnia.
• Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Therapeutic touch reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol and increases “feel-good” hormones like dopamine and serotonin, promoting emotional well-being and a calmer pregnancy.
✨ Safety measures taken during pregnancy massages -
As the pregnancy progresses, lying in certain positions can be uncomfortable or even unsafe for the mother and baby. The primary goal is to avoid compression of major blood vessels, especially the inferior vena cava (IVC), which can reduce blood flow to the placenta and fetus.
• Supported side lying - Recommended from the second trimester onward. The mother lies on her side (often the left side is preferred to maximize blood flow) with plentiful supportive pillows: under the head, between the knees and ankles, and under the abdomen/belly. This is considered the safest and most comfortable position.
