Crosby Riding for the Disabled Association Crosby Group RDA provides fun, therapy and accessible sport for disabled children and adults through horse riding. Registered Charity No. 1074270

Crosby RDA was founded in 1974 and is a charity which provides horse-riding therapy solely for those with disabilities. No matter what the disability is and no matter what their age, everyone is welcome to have the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve with us here at Crosby RDA. Crosby RDA costs over £30,000 a year in running costs and is a self funded charity run entirely on charitable donations, donations from our rides and the fundraising work done by our volunteers. Any support people can give is very much appreciated. If you think you can do a coffee morning, a stall at an event, even send in unused gifts, bottles, and items for stalls at our open days etc. that would be fantastic, please send us an email if you think you can help in any way to: crosbyrda@gmail.com

Hi everyone 🤍
On Saturday we celebrated Emma’s retirement surrounded by riders and volunteers, both past and present, who came to say their goodbyes.

We’re so grateful to share that we raised £642, which will go to The Horse Trust, where Emma will be lovingly cared for in her retirement.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it so special it meant the world.

🌟 Volunteer Appreciation 🌟

A huge well done to four of our wonderful volunteers: Paige, Elaine, Debbie and Sarah, who have successfully completed their training for Preparing and Assisting RDA Sessions. 👏

They generously gave up their Sunday afternoons to complete the training and support our group, and we are so grateful for their dedication.

Having regular, trained volunteers makes a huge difference to our sessions and helps ensure our riders receive the consistent support they need to get the most out of their time with us. 🐎💙

Thank you for giving your time and commitment our riders and the whole team truly appreciate it!

We’ve had two incredible volunteers celebrate their 80th birthdays with us!

💛 John Keight - An amazing part of our RDA family for over 20 years.
💛 Sandra Richardson – dedicated to RDA for 10 wonderful years.

The time, care and commitment they’ve given to our riders, ponies and community is truly priceless. Volunteers like John and Sandra are the heart of everything we do.

Duchess stepped forward, calm and wise,
A gentle look in knowing eyes.

A quiet sniff, a soft hello,

This is Amelie and Evie Burns, who were presented with the Ursula Youell Volunteers Cup in recognition of their hard work and dedication to the group 🤍

The award was presented by Paula, our Saturday coach.

We truly appreciate the time, energy and kindness they bring each week. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do their commitment helps create a supportive, positive environment for our riders and makes a real difference to the whole group.

✨ Merry Christmas from everyone at Crosby RDA ✨

As the year draws to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you.
To our riders, who remind us every week what courage and joy look like.
To our volunteers, who give their time, kindness, and endless patience.
And to everyone who supported our fundraising events none of this would be possible without you.

This year has been filled with small wins, big smiles, muddy boots, and moments that will stay with us long after the reins are hung up for winter.

We’re so grateful for our community and all that we’ve achieved together.
We hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a bright New Year and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.

🎄✨ WHAT A CHRISTMAS FAIR✨🎄

Thank you to everyone who came to our Crosby RDA Christmas Fundraising Fair the festive energy was unbelievable! ❤️🐴

We had face painting, Santa’s Grotto, teddy tombola, cakes, crafts, raffles and nonstop Christmas cheer. The school was buzzing and the turnout was brilliant! 🎅🍰🐻🎟️

And of course… a little festive rhyme:

🎅 From Santa in his grotto to paint on every face,
🐻 From teddies on the tombola to cakes we couldn’t chase,
🎁 You filled our school with joy and made our spirits glow,
✨ Thank you for the magic more than you could ever know!
