As COVID restrictions are lifting, Physiotherapy services have returned to normal face to face delivery. You can be reassured however, lateral flow tests are still taken twice a week and wearing of face masks are also still encouraged. Virtual consults are still available and still very popular, particularly if you struggle to make appointments. Call or message if you have any questions or concerns.

As you are all aware with the current situation, our service delivery has been affected and we have had to change the way we deliver a physiotherapy service. We have to follow specific guidelines to keep you safe and the general public. C.S.P (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) guidelines recommend virtual consultation as our first point of contact. ThIs still provides a high quality assessment and allows us to screen whether you do actually need to be seen face to face or not. If you do and you are in the low risk category , then this can now be arranged.
There are strict cleaning processes and detailed screening forms to be completed ,if a face to face appointment is necessary.
Of course it is still your choice and if you don't want to be seen or struggle to make appointments due to work or other commitments, then our virtual sessions are proving to be extremely effective.
Call or message if you have any questions or concerns and we will go through it all.

This is well worth a look! Even a good sit down to see all the content it has. Having the understanding of pain, whether it is acute or chronic, is a massive part in our rehab and quickly getting on that road to recovery. Remember, Pain is not a good indicator of tissue damage and learning to understand pain science can be really really helpful!! Have a look and pass on to anyone who is struggling.

Great advice for those of you who have to do long drives. It is easy to blame posture... and this is a whole different topic! ... but it’s more the length of time you are in one position for. Adding in a few stretches can make all the difference as well as small seat adjustments. Have a go and see what you think. Any ongoing issues then seek advice from a registered physio or your GP.

Always try physio first for any shoulder problem. I find sometimes people can give up too soon, it takes months to really get it better! Also many people have actually tried physio for a good length of time and still struggle with pain. That’s were the kinetic chain comes in. This is basically looking at the body as a whole rather than just the shoulder in isolation. Lots of studies show this, with this one in particular showing the importance of the lower limb in the function of the shoulder!!! So get a thorough physio assessment and give it time.

Now we have more of us working from home on laptops or workstations.. and this is including me! It’s so important to not get sucked into hours and hours in one position. This is a great guide, easy to follow and very effective. Put it into place now and reduce the likelihood of developing pain in any part of the body. I find the last part very important too, giving your vision a break! Have a go and feel the difference. Remember, if your pain persists, seek advice from a registered physiotherapist

Finally completed this brilliant course! Have already been implementing this approach in rehab and finding great results.Accurate strength training is so important and if done right then we must progress with loads..This is something people are quite unsure about partly due to recovery from injuries and fear. With the mounds of evidence this course has to back it up, it is very safe and it works!! Remember strength training can be just lifting a bag of shopping.. if you get the right plan in place it’s brilliant.
