Wednesday Win 💚💙

A lovely win from one of our sessions this week, shared by Sarah.

A child we’ve been supporting with letter formation has found the letter ‘y’ particularly tricky. After seeking advice from Ashleigh, we introduced a brilliant number-based strategy to guide the formation.

The results were fantastic ⭐ On 3 out of 5 attempts, the child formed the letter correctly. On the other two tries, she noticed the mistake herself and independently corrected it using the number strategy.

A great example of teamwork and problem-solving in action. Thanks again, Ashleigh 👏

Say hello to Caroline Tiplady, our wonderful LOTS Administrator.

Caroline joined the team after running her own successful home fragrance business, which she sold in 2025 to return to what she loves most – being part of a team.

She enjoys the variety her role brings, with no two days ever the same. From supporting the team behind the scenes to keeping everything running smoothly, Caroline plays a key part in LOTS.

Outside of work, Caroline enjoys a simple life – walking, strength and weight sessions, catching up with friends, reading, listening to podcasts, and creating her own pebble art pictures.

Another win to celebrate this week...
Late last week, Emma received a lovely email from another OTA reflecting on the positive impact she had when starting at the company. Our shadowing days were highlighted as really helpful and effective in supporting practice 😊

Sarah added: "Emma’s help during our shadowing days at LOTS was so valuable. She constantly explained activities and their benefits, gave lots of ideas, got me involved in interventions, and answered my many questions. She modelled strategies that have been used effectively in my interventions and helped me develop my skills. Thanks so much, Emma 💚"

Wednesday Win 🎊

Kerry recently reviewed the progress of a young person she saw just before Christmas. She was asked to develop a sensory diet for home to support his regulation and overall well-being. She worked closely with both his school and home support teams to create a sensory plan and support them to implement it.

Last week, she called his home manager to review how things were going, and Kerry said...

"I was honestly blown away by the progress he has made. Prior to the intervention, he was experiencing daily dysregulation that resulted in high-risk behaviours. Since December, it was reported that he hasn't had a single incident.

Even more positively, he has started accessing multiple activities in the community and has begun to rebuild meaningful contact with his family." 👐

He’s now engaging in a really enriched sensory diet – something Kerry helped design, but which has been delivered brilliantly by his whole team. Their consistency and commitment has made a huge difference to every aspect of his life and it just goes to show how powerful the multidisciplinary team support can be 💚

This training session, delivered by Kerry and Rebecca, was part of our quality-based consortia model. Focusing on the development of pre-writing and fine motor skills, the session addressed a key training need identified by schools 💚💙

Staff were enthusiastic throughout, especially during the practical element, where they could see how activities could be implemented and adapted to support a range of fine motor sub-skills.
