At Algeos, we stand fully behind the British Association of Prosthetics & Orthotics - BAPO in calling for urgent action to protect prosthetics and orthotics apprenticeship programmes in England.

These programmes are not simply a training route. They are a critical part of the workforce pipeline that underpins safe, effective, and timely care for people living with limb difference and complex mobility needs.

As a UK manufacturer working closely with clinicians, services, and charities, we see first-hand how fragile this specialist workforce already is. Continued uncertainty around funding, commissioning, and education places long-term patient outcomes at risk and undermines the sustainability of the profession.

We have co-signed the joint letter to the Secretary of State alongside colleagues across industry and the third sector, standing with BAPO in urging NHS England and the Government to honour commitments, provide clarity, and protect the future of prosthetics and orthotics in the UK, and will continue to support any programmes that safeguarding skills, services, and independence for the people who rely on them, now and for generations to come.

We’ve had a wonderfully festive day in the office raising money for Zoe’s Place/Little Lights, starting with our very own North Pole Breakfast - complete with pastries, mince pies, hot chocolates, fruits and all the cosy treats you could imagine.

A huge congratulations to Michelle Howell, the well-deserved winner of our Christmas Jumper competition with her incredible ’Snowasis’ outfit 🎄

We then wrapped up the day with a round of Secret Santa, filling the office with laughter, surprise, and plenty of Christmas magic.
