💬 At Prescriptions Pharmacy, we’re proud to run the NHS Pharmacy First service for uncomplicated UTIs in women aged 16-64 — quick, local and convenient.
⚠️ Recognise the signs:
• A burning or stinging when you wee
• Going to the loo more often than usual
• Cloudy or dark-smelling wee
• No high fever, no lower back pain — if you do have those you’ll need further assessment.
📊 What we’ll do for you:
• An in-store chat and eligibility check by our pharmacist
• If you’re eligible: treatment then & there + tailored advice
• If your symptoms show ‘red flags’ (male patient, pregnancy, catheter, high fever) we’ll refer you to your GP.
🧼 While you wait for your visit:
• Keep well-hydrated — water over sugary drinks
• Don’t hold your wee in; go when needed
• Avoid irritants (like strong soap or bubble bath in the area)

⚠️ Recognise the signs:
• Facial pain/pressure around cheeks/forehead/eyes
• Blocked or runny nose, often with green/yellow discharge
• Reduced sense of smell
• Symptoms commonly follow a cold or flu.
📊 What we’ll do for you:
• Our pharmacist will assess your symptoms and decide if you’re eligible for the Pharmacy First route.
• If eligible: we can supply the correct treatment and give self-care advice right away.
• If your symptoms are severe or persistent (e.g., > 10 days, very bad pain, or shows ‘red-flags’), we’ll refer you to GP or specialist.
🧴 Try this while you wait to recover:
• Rinse your nose with saline solution.
• Use warm compresses on your face to ease pressure.
• Keep your head elevated at night; breathe easier.

we are looking for a dispenser to join our team to work three days a week. Preferably someone with experience and qualifications as a pharmacy dispenser, but we will consider all applications. The role may be suitable for a college/University leaver looking for a job with career progression and qualifications within the role. Applicant must be willing to work in a fast paced environment and should have a good attitude and dedication to perform to a high level. The position itself may be in a different branch. We are looking for a dispenser. 24 hours a week available. Mon 9-6, Wed 9-1, Thur 9-6, Fri 9-1.
We are ideally looking for someone with a minimum NVQ2 in dispensing with at least 1 year experience working in a pharmacy, although not completely essential.
