Our Story

At SAFE Place Merseyside we offer forensic medical examination services for both males and females who have been sexually assaulted.

We have a team of highly-trained healthcare professionals who are here to support you at our examination suite in Liverpool City Centre.

We can also provide you with emergency contraception, preventative treatments for sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) including HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and advice on screening for STI’s at a later date. We will also offer referral to an independent sexual violence advisor (ISVA) who can help you if you would like to contact the Police and put you in touch with a counselling service.

We are here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service is FREE and part of the NHS.
