Hi all,

Currently we have no phone line or Internet in the pharmacy, BT have given us an estimated date of Wednesday 9th as to when it will be fixed.

Regarding flu jabs, we will be doing them this year but the NHS have yet to give us a start date.

Kind regards,
Dan

Hi everyone,

I've been the new pharmacist and owner at Hightown Pharmacy for over half a year, and I'd like to say thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome. I've been busy working on the website for the past few months, and the flu booking system is officially up and running!

You can now book your flu vaccination online by completing a simple form via the website. Don't worry, you can still book in-store and over the phone too. The new online booking system is faster, easier and more streamlined, giving you the best experience possible. Please book online if you are able to do so.

The rest of the website is not yet available, as we are awaiting GPhC approval, although you can look around.

Thanks,
Dan

Dear all,

Fleur and I would like to thank all our customers for their lovely cards, warm words and generous gifts over Christmas. Your kindness and generosity never fails to blow us away.

We would like to impart the bittersweet news that Fleur and I are standing down at the pharmacy with immediate effect. We are handing the reigns over to a lovely gentleman called Danny. Danny is an experienced pharmacist, who we are sure, will continue to serve the Hightown community to a high standard. We wish Danny the very best and hope that he and our fantastic staff will take the pharmacy business to the next level.

We would like to thank you all for all your support over the years and also send out a massive thank you to all our fantastic staff, without whom, the pharmacy would not be what it is today. We still have all the lovely cards that we were given last time, when we thought that we were leaving, and will take those warm sentiments with us as we depart.

Residents will be pleased to know that a new temporary GP provider has been found for Hightown Surgery and they will continue the existing GP contract until March 2022. A full GP procurement procedure will run this year to secure a permanent long-term GP provider for Hightown Village Surgery to continue after March 2022. I will continue to play an active part in the Hightown Village Surgery Working Group and help to ensure that the patients of Hightown have access to quality medical services moving forward.

Thank you once more,

Kindest regards

Fleur & Ellis.

As from Tuesday 1st December, everyone aged 50 years and over will be eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine. Please contact the pharmacy (either in person or by phone) to book your free influenza vaccine.

07/09/2020

With influenza vaccines starting next week, it would be helpful if anyone booked in could fill in a form on the Preconsult link. This is software is managed by the NHS and the information provided is to ensure a safe service. It will only be used to notify your GP once vaccination is completed and for NHS statistical analysis. If it cannot be filled in for whatever reason, that is not a problem, it can be done during your consultation.
Many thanks

As per NHS requirements, our pharmacy will be open 2pm to 5pm on both Good Friday (10th April) and Easter Monday (13th April).

To all our customers:
During the current COVID-19 crisis, we have now instigated a new system for patients & customers to enter and leave the pharmacy that should achieve the social distancing requirements.

We have adopted a one-way system and a one customer (or set of customers if they are from the same household) at a time policy.

To enter the pharmacy:
Please use the long path leading from the village green. If you see another customer standing at the counter in the pharmacy, please wait at the white line. If you see anybody waiting at the white line already, please wait at one of the highlighted 2m intervals that run down the path.
If you approach the pharmacy and see no-one standing at the counter, please enter.

To leave the pharmacy:
Please exit the pharmacy and leave by the short path.

There are arrows to follow and signage to explain the system. The pharmacy door will be permanently open to reduce the need for surface contact.

If a patient needs to wait in the pharmacy for whatever reason, you may be asked to wait seated or outside so that another customer may be served whilst you are waiting.

Deliveries:
If you are self-isolating, over 70 or from a vulnerable health group and require your prescription, we would ask that in the first instance you ask a friend, neighbour or volunteer to collect your medication. If this is not possible, we will of course deliver. Please ring the pharmacy when you expect your prescription to be ready to ask us to deliver. We cannot emphasise enough that no-one should go without their medication or leave their house if they are not supposed to. We will endeavour to deliver all medication to those who need it.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support and co-operation. Please take care and stay safe.

Fleur, Ellis and the pharmacy team

Formby is set to expand faster than it has since the 1970's due to Sefton Council's push for 11000 new homes in Formby. Despite this we have seen our health provision stretched to breaking point with the Hightown Doctors Surgery now becoming part of Formby Chapel Lane Practice. Formby cannot afford....
