Expect Service User Pauline celebrated her 65th birthday recently. She received some lovely presents, had birthday banners and a great looking birthday buffet!
Pauline has also been to the hairdressers to get her hair cut. Looks great Pauline.

Our Balliol Service Users Pauline, Ian, Robert, Colin and Charlie have been making their own pizzas. Some delicious combinations have been made by adding their own sauce and toppings of choice.

Kath's Christmas!

Expect Service User Kathy and her support team have shared with us Kath's Christmas Adventures.

Kathy visited the Christmas Grotto at Sefton Meadows Garden Centre which was truly magical. Kath loved meeting Father Christmas and taking in the atmosphere.

Kath also attended the Christmas party at our Bowersdale Resource Day centre (BRC) which she really enjoyed as well.

Charlie's Chester Adventure!

Recently, Staff supported Service User Charlie on an overnight trip to Chester .

Charlie is a regular visitor to Chester but said it looked so different at night especially with the Christmas markets there and all lit up.

Charlie also visited Sea life which he has a annual pass for.

Looks great Charlie. Glad you had a lovely time.

AccessAva is a free digital service that helps you navigate the complexities of health and social care in England. Available 24/7, it offers clear, straightforward legal information and guidance so you can understand your rights. The AccessAva pop up is available on our website. www.expect.org.uk

A social prescriber used AccessAva to find the right legal wording for a situation that was holding up much needed respite support. With the guidance generated through AccessAva, an email was sent to the relevant authority. As a result, the council contacted the carer and put the respite support in place.

This is the impact of one letter, sent to the right senior team. It shows how AccessAva’s clear legal information and personalised letter generation can turn confusion into action and help people secure the social care support they need.

Importantly, almost 40% of letters downloaded are from people not yet in receipt of social care. This highlights just how vital it is to have clear, accessible information at an early stage, before situations reach crisis point.

AccessAva is making it easier for people to understand their rights and take action. 💜

Clare received one of a number of laptops donated to Expect Ltd by Utilize Plc and Gilbert McHarg late last year. This donation has had a great impact on Clare's independence and life. She says;

“I got my laptop in December. I got it so that I could do a computing course and learn how to book activities for myself. I have booked myself tickets to see a boy band in the echo arena later in the year using the laptop and I am very excited to go to the concert. I am also planning on booking a trip to Blackpool with my carer this year. If I am able to go on the holiday, I will book a holiday to Spain and Tenerife next. I feel like the laptop has given me more independence as I can now book trips for myself on my own, so thank you for donating it to me”.

The Bowersdale Resource Day Centre (BRC) Christmas Party was another success. Pics and Videos below. Everyone enjoyed fun filled frolics, a visit from Santa as well as food, entertainment and a present.

Joe's outings and trips continue. Not only has Joe been to Chester Zoo recently, but he has also been to Centre Parcs, Blackpool and been pumping Iron in the gym.
