Expect Limited

Expect Limited Expect is a registered charity providing health and social care services based in Sefton, Merseyside that has been operating for 35 years.

We offer individual focussed support to help you live your best possible life. Expect Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a domiciliary and residential service, providing a range of services for people living with mental illness and/ or learning disabilities. We uphold a strong community approach and focus the efforts of highly trained, motivated staff on supporting some of the most isolated individuals in the community. Expect is a charity that emphasises the benefits of inclusion and social integration, operating an alternative approach to institutionalised care and support. Expect manages the operation of housing projects such as supported living provision, registered care homes and community outreach services in order to provide appropriate levels of support, in an appropriate lifestyle context to best support each individual we work with. In addition to this Expect operates a comprehensive day service support/ community facility called ‘The Bowersdale Centre’ in Seaforth. The charity works alongside other voluntary, community and charitable organisations from this hub facility to develop service provision for the maximum amount of people who we can help. Expect aims to promote the value of ordinary living opportunities and eliminate the segregation and stigmatisation of people who consider themselves to be disadvantaged by reason of their physical health, mental health or learning disability. To this end we provide services that aim to preserve and protect the well-being of the disadvantaged in our society on a not-for-profit, charitable basis.

2025 Expect Ltd Christmas Appeal:

Help Spread Warmth & Kindness throughout Expect this Christmas.

This Christmas, we’re reaching out to our community, staff and corporate network with a heartfelt request for donations to support our service users; adults with a learning disability and those who need mental health support in our services.

Christmas can be an extremely difficult time for many of us and our service users are no exception.

We are asking for donations of warm hats, gloves, scarves, and toiletries sets for our most vulnerable services users.

These simple yet meaningful gifts will help provide comfort and warmth to those who need it most. A cosy scarf or a thoughtful Christmas Gift set can truly brighten someone’s day, offering not just physical warmth, but a sense of belonging and kindness.

How You Can Help:

£10 can buy a Hat & Scarf set: Keep someone warm and independent during the winter months.
£15 can buy a Toiletries set: Basic personal care items like soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste make a world of difference.
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real impact on the lives of individuals in our care, helping them feel valued and remembered this Christmas.

Come together with Expect to help spread joy, kindness, and warmth this festive season.

New item donations can be dropped off at Expect Head Office, 149-151 Stanley Road, Bootle, L20 3DL. Between 9-4pm Monday-Thursday.

Thank you for making a difference this Christmas!

To celebrate Trustees’ Week 2025 - a special time to recognise the incredible people who give their time, energy, and expertise to guide and support charities like Expect, we asked Claire one of our Trustees, what it ment to her to be a part of our charity.

Claire says “As a trustee of Expect, I get a great deal of satisfaction from knowing that I’m helping an amazing team deliver an essential service to the community. It's time well spent indeed.”

Trustees make a huge difference every day, helping organisations stay strong, focused, and true to their mission. Thanks Claire.

Expect attended the North West In Bloom Awards at Bolton's Toughsheet Stadium on Tuesday. Delighted that Expect's Bowersdale Resource Day Centre (BRC) was recognised as having a 'Level 5- Outstanding' Garden. All the hard work of our service users and Day Centre staff have paid off.

Our Gardening Project only began 3 years ago, we have risen every year from Level 3 to Level 5 ever since. Hopefully with continued funding and support we can further develop our Garden and continue to use the project to give a positive impact to our service users mental health, team work and growing independence.

Well done everyone!

A massive thank you to Utilize Plc for their generous donation of laptops to us at Expect Limited. The computers will be going directly to our service users, to help them become more digitally included. Thank you both Gibbie and Mark for working with Kevin our Business Development Manager and for making the process so straight forward.

The laptops will make a massive difference to our service users lives in being able to be taught how to book appointments online, order their food shop and stay connected with friends and family amongst other things.

Thanks as well to our corporate partner and team at Lift Off IT Services who have configured the laptops, installed Anti-Virus and will support these devices going forwards.

Expect are a member of Shout Connect which has led to the connection with Utilize and their reUtilize program, which repurposes unused laptops for use by those unfortunate enough to not have their own.
