April is bowel cancer awareness month

Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK.
But the good news is – finding it early can save lives. The earlier it’s found, the easier it is to treat.
Screening is all about catching things before you notice any symptoms.
It only takes a few minutes, and it really can make a big difference.

Are you aged 50-74? Registered with a GP in Cheshire and Merseyside?

Our Bowel Cancer Screening – Call For A Kit team joined our Colorectal colleagues at the Royal Hospital today to help raise awareness for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this April.

They’re available to answer any questions you may have about Bowel screening and can also arrange a home test kit for those who are eligible aged 50-74.

The team will be back again on Thursday from 10am–2pm Royal ground floor by WH Smith’s

Great turnout today at Warrington Hospital health promotion event !
We had a brilliant day chatting to people about why it’s so important to complete your bowel screening kit when it drops through the letterbox.
Big welcome to Bethany and Jenny, our two new team members, who are loving getting out and about spreading the message across Cheshire and Merseyside.
The team are now back in the office busy ordering replacement kits for everyone who asked for one to be sent out. Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat to learn more about bowel screening 👏

💙 What’s the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme all about?
It’s a simple NHS programme that helps find bowel cancer early – using an easy home test kit called the FIT test.
No hospital trips, no fuss – just a quick test you can do in the comfort of your own home.
If you’re aged 50 to 74 and registered with a GP, you’ll get a kit sent to you in the post every two years.

What a great start to the week!

I just received the results of my first bowel screening test kit, and I’m so pleased to share that I’ve got a negative result!

It feels amazing to kick off the week on such a positive note. It’s a great reminder of how important it is to stay proactive about our health. Early detection really can make a world of difference.

If you haven’t already, I encourage everyone to get screened – it’s quick, simple, and could be a life-saver.
