Today is International Day of People with Disabilities. Research from the World Health Organisation (WHO) shows that people with disabilities have twice the risk of developing chronic health conditions, including diabetes or asthma. For this reason, Health and Wellbeing is one of the five key drivers of our clinically-informed framework. 🌎Today is World Diabetes Day. Many of the complex people we support live with a co-occurring condition such as diabetes alongside a learning disability, mental health condition or acquired brain injury. Managing diabetes alongside other support needs can be difficult, but our team of nurses are on hand to help the people we support manage their diabetes with medication and by diet.
