Overthinking — Before & After

Before, I used to fall asleep fine — no problem.
But through the night I’d wake up with a full head.
Straight into thinking about work, conversations, decisions…
and I’d be that awake I could’ve gone for a run at 3am.

By the time morning came, my mind had already lived a whole day before I’d even opened my eyes.

That was my normal for years.

But here’s the shift…

Now, I start my day by meditating and setting my intention.
It brings me straight into myself.
It stops that spiralling before it starts.
And it reminds me that I choose how I show up — not my overthinking.

I’ve learned that overthinking isn’t me “being dramatic”…
it’s just a sign I’m out of balance and my mind is running ahead because my body feels pressure.

So when I wake up like that now, I don’t chase the thoughts.
I take a breath, drop back into myself, and come into the moment.
And every time, my mind settles.
My energy steadies.
And I can actually think clearly instead of spiralling.

This is what I want to share in my video today,
not perfection, just the truth of how it was… and how I manage it now.

If you’re waking up in the night with your mind racing, you’re not broken —
you’re just out of balance.
And balance can always be brought back.

It’s Okay Not to Be Okay

Most of us spend our days thinking about everything except how we actually feel —
yesterday, today, what’s next, what we did, what we didn’t do.

We try to stay positive.
We try to push through.
We try to hold it all together.

But real balance doesn’t come from forcing positivity.
It comes from pausing.

Stop.
Breathe.
Ask yourself: “How am I really feeling?”

Because on the outside we can look completely fine…
but inside, different parts of us — our emotions, our inner child, our inner world — might be tired, overwhelmed, or trying to cope alone.

When you stop long enough to listen,
your higher self finally has space to guide you.

And that is where healing begins.

Me and Charlie have been out again this week, doing a bit of networking and getting support for the business.

Last week we were at the Business Clinic in Devonshire House with the team from the Central Library’s BIPC. It was really helpful speaking to people who understand what we’re building and who gave us clear direction without all the jargon.

We came away with a few things that reassured us, plus these lovely pictures they took.

clearer ideas for our next steps
practical advice we can actually use
and more confidence that we’re heading in the right direction

It’s nice to feel supported while we grow Angel Cloud B.E.C.I., and it feels even better doing it together.

One step at a time, but we’re definitely getting there.

Today’s Emotion: Lack of sleep/ Overthinking

I remember what it was like lying awake at night — mind racing, replaying work, and everything I needed to do the next day.
It wasn’t just lack of sleep… it was my body’s way of telling me I was out of balance.

Back then, I used to think rest was something I’d get to once everything else was done.
But what I’ve learned is that when your mind won’t switch off and your body feels tense, it’s not about pushing harder — it’s about slowing down.

These days, I make space to pause.
I turn my phone off earlier, take deep, slow breaths, and remind myself that it’s safe to rest.
When we give our body that message, the nervous system finally gets a chance to reset.

Slowing down, isn’t a weakness — it’s your body asking for calm, safety, and stillness.
And that’s exactly what I now help others do — find balance again in the body, mind, and soul.

Because when we rest, we reconnect.
And that’s where true balance begins.

Today’s Emotion: Anxiety

For a long time, I didn’t even realise I was making my body worse.
I stayed busy, kept smiling, went to the gym, felt fit, laughed — and thought that meant I was fine.
I didn’t know any different.

But anxiety can hide behind success, smiles, and strength.
It’s not always visible — it often shows through the body before we even notice it in the mind.

I used to push through, thinking I just needed to do more.
Now I listen instead.
I use my techniques to calm my body, understand my triggers, and bring myself back into balance.

Through slowing down and being kind to myself — body, soul, and mind — I’ve found more peace.
My thoughts are clearer, and life flows more gently.

I’m now happy that I’ve been able to help others do the same — learning to slow down, listen, and find calm within themselves.

Take a deep breath.
Be kind to yourself.
That’s where healing begins.

💢 Today’s Emotion: Anger & Frustration

When we feel anger or frustration, it’s often our body’s way of saying we’re out of balance.
For many people who seem calm and capable on the outside, these emotions quietly build underneath — until the body begins to speak through symptoms.

From a nursing point of view, chronic anger or frustration can contribute to:
• raised blood pressure and heart rate
• headaches or muscle tension
• digestive issues such as IBS or reflux
• poor sleep and fatigue

In B.E.C.I., we teach that these emotions aren’t wrong — they’re simply signs that you’re living from pressure, not presence.
Your genius is calm, clear, and responsive.
It doesn’t react — it responds.

Take a breath, release the pressure, and reconnect with your genius.
That’s where balance begins. 🌿

💬 What helps you release frustration in a healthy way — exercise, journaling, grounding, or reflection?

🌿 Understanding Stress: The Hidden Message Behind the Emotion

Stress isn’t just a feeling — it’s a signal.

It’s your body’s way of saying something needs attention.

When we ignore it, stress doesn’t disappear; it just changes shape.

It might show up as fatigue, tension, poor sleep, or emotional outbursts.

Working in a busy workplace, it can be easy to normalise stress — to believe that rushing, multitasking, and always being “on” is just part of life.

But over time, that constant pressure takes a toll on the mind and body.

For years, I looked calm and happy on the outside — but I was carrying so much stress on the inside.

I thought it was better to hold everything in and just keep going.

I’d distract myself, help others, or make people laugh so I didn’t have to feel what was really going on.

There were days I’d wipe away my tears, put my make-up back on, and smile as if everything was fine.

What I didn’t realise was that by masking my stress, I was attracting more of it — situations and people that mirrored what I was really feeling inside.

Eventually, my body started to show me what my mind refused to face.

I developed stress flushes and blepharitis in my eyes.

I couldn’t even wear make-up anymore.

At night, I’d sit with ice packs on my face, only for it to flare up again the next day.

That was the moment I couldn’t hide it any longer.

I realised stress wasn’t the enemy — it was the message.

It was my body asking me to stop, breathe, and listen.

Once I began to understand that, is when everything started to change.

Because hiding our feelings doesn’t protect us — it only makes the noise louder.

✨ Tip:

Next time you feel stressed, pause and ask yourself:

> “What is this feeling trying to tell me?

You may discover that stress isn’t here to break you — it’s here to wake you.

💫 Today’s Emotion: Fatigue

There are times when everything feels too much — when the mind races, the body feels heavy, and even small things take effort.
That’s overwhelm.
It creeps in quietly, when we’ve been giving too much of ourselves for too long.

And then comes fatigue.
Not just tiredness — but that deep weariness that sleep doesn’t fix.
It’s the kind that seeps into your thoughts, your mood, your motivation.
You still get things done, you still show up for everyone — but inside, you feel like you’re running on empty.

Fatigue can show up as:
• Constant tiredness, even after rest
• Feeling foggy or disconnected
• Snapping at little things
• Losing interest in what normally brings joy
• Saying “I’m fine” when you’re really not

When we’re out of balance, our body starts to whisper what the mind has been ignoring.
Fatigue isn’t failure — it’s a gentle message to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

The more we listen, the more energy returns.
The more we rest, the more clarity comes.
Balance doesn’t come from doing more — it comes from allowing yourself to just be. 🌿
