The Larder was delighted to welcome Kirsty Connell, Membership & Community Managerand Jim Hendry, Member of the East Regional Committee from Scotmid Co-operative to our Café in Blackburn this week.

Their visit provided a valuable opportunity to share the impact of our community initiatives and the wider work we’re doing to tackle food insecurity and promote dignity across West Lothian. We are grateful for their time, interest and continued support.

We are also proud to share that The Larder has been nominated for Scotmid Co-operative Members Choice Awards—a recognition that means so much to our team and the communities we serve.

On Saturday 27th September 2025, some of the Diamond Staff will be taking on a 10K Shine Night Walk to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. We’re walking in honour of those we’ve lost, those bravely fighting, and the hope of a brighter future without cancer. Every step we take is for them. 💜

We can’t believe the growth and development we have seen in so many of our amazing service users and are so grateful we have been able to give them the opportunity to come together with others and build long-lasting bonds.

We hope to continue with Shine and develop it further, opening groups for a wider range of service users, over a variety of days.

Scottish Care ‘Care at Home & Housing Support Awards’💙

How amazing did our lovely staff look for the awards on Friday night🤩

We had a brilliant evening at the awards, hearing all the wonderful stories and meeting our fellow providers.

A huge well done to all the truly deserving winners in each of the categories. Everyone looked absolutely fabulous and we hope they enjoyed the awards as much as we did!

Being our first year at the awards, we were hugely honoured to attend as finalists in two categories, coming top 4, out of 170 nominations🤯🙌🏼

Thank you to all our wonderful staff for working so hard each and every day. We couldn’t provide the service we do without you🫶🏼

Tomorrow we head to the Scottish Care Care at Home & Housing Support Awards 2025🏆

We are incredibly proud and honoured to be attending the awards as finalists in two of the categories.

💎Firstly, one of our amazing staff members, Tara Wilson, is a finalist for ‘Positive Impact Award’

💎Secondly, we are finalists for ‘Provider of the Year’

We look forward to joining all the Scottish Care Providers and our fellow finalists at tomorrow nights event. We wish the finalists in the above mentioned awards the absolute best of luck, as well as those up for other awards on the night💙

What a wonderful day we had at our coffee morning☕️🧁

We were joined by staff, service users, members of the public and local businesses, to raise funds for local charity, Sporting Memories Scotland 💙

We raised funds through our

🍰 bake sale
🎟️ tombola
🧸 guess the name of the bear
🎂 a guess the weight of the cake

We raised a total of £710! A huge thank you to everyone who came along and donated, helping us raise an amazing total for a great charity.

We enjoyed all the laughter, chatter, coffee and cakes, and hope everyone who came along enjoyed them just as much as we did😄💎

Diamond have a new office!

We recently moved office, giving us more space and ability to make the place our own.

We now have a room to host our own events and groups, as well as a new office space for our 7 wonderful office staff.

Our gorgeous new sign for our front door was made by one of our amazing service users and kindly donated! We think it’s the perfect addition💎

🛑 Red Weather Warning 🛑

We urge all service users to stay indoors during the red weather warning and avoid making any unnecessary journeys.

No support calls will take place out with the home for today’s visits to ensure the safety of staff and service users.
