We were delighted to welcome Warren, Paul, and the team from to our service recently.

It was clear from their visit that S.M.I.L.E. and HSF share a deep commitment to supporting mental wellbeing and building stronger, healthier communities.

We’re incredibly grateful to have received a £10,000 grant from The Hospital Saturday Fund, which will help us work to support young people in West Lothian as they transition from primary to secondary school, a time that can bring significant stress, anxiety, and uncertainty, especially for those already facing challenges at home or socially.

This support will allow us to provide early mental health intervention during this key period, helping young people build confidence, emotional resilience, and stronger support networks.

🎳 Celebrating Chapters, Change & Champions 🏆

Last night, some of the S.M.I.L.E. Board crew ( Ian Angus-Felton), Dr Mairi Macdonald-Woolley, Moazzam Sardar, FCCA, Scott McEwen and Declan) headed through to Glasgow to celebrate all the amazing work our outgoing Chairperson, Ian has achieved as his 5-year tenure came to an end.

We kicked off at Level X for some friendly competition — bowling first (where Ian took the win 🏆) followed by a round of crazy golf ⛳️ where both Ian (our outgoing Chair) and Mairi (our new Chair) finished joint winners… some might call it a symbolic passing of the club… I mean torch 😅

We then wrapped up the night at La Vita, George Square, for an incredible meal, lots of laughs and a few reflective stories about the journey S.M.I.L.E. has been on these past five years.

💛 It’s so important to celebrate the people who give their time, energy and heart to help organisations like ours grow.
Volunteer board members often work behind the scenes, guiding strategy, ensuring accountability, and helping us stay true to our mission — and that deserves to be recognised.

Here’s to Ian for the legacy he leaves, and to Mairi for the exciting new chapter ahead in the S.M.I.L.E. story. The journey continues 💫
