Remember Jamie, who took some amazing photos of our resident Barn Owl owlets. Well she has done it again, another award for her photography. A born star and only 10 years old! And on the tele this morning too can’t keep up with you Jamie!! ⭐

A 10-year-old photographer who has already won widespread praise for her work has now been successful in a global competition

Jamie Smart won the 10 years and under category in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, organised by London’s Natural History Museum

‘Owls Oak’ where Busnant Wood starts a mixed native woodland that we are creating is looking very autumnal 🍁

Following instructions from: Powys Species Habitat Protection Group we gave the owl box in ‘Owls Oak’ an autumn clean removing their layers of old poo! And a Barn Owl appeared! We spotted 2 Barn Owls in our other box too🦉🦉🦉

‘Hay Meadow’ now has a growing number of bird boxes. When opening the lids to give them an autumn clean it was lovely to see that so many have old nests in them! 🪺

Been busy with our honey bees, looks like a good harvest of honey soon as they are foraging the heather from the hills around us. We’ve been worried about our honey bees as they suffered like lots of pollinators did with last years long wet spring but they’re getting stronger again! 🐝🐝🐝 Shane Jones we are winning!
