RSV Vaccination Programme Update – Adults Aged 80 and Over

From 1 April 2026, the RSV vaccination programme is being expanded to include all adults aged 80 and over, with no upper age limit.
We will be offering vaccinations to this group between 1 April and 30 June 2026.
•If you are aged 80 or over, please contact the practice to book your appointment.
• We will also be reaching out directly to eligible patients.
• In some cases, you may be able to receive your RSV vaccine at the same time as your spring COVID‑19 vaccination, which will be delivered by the local immunisation team.

📅 Missed Appointments in January
309 patients didn’t attend their appointment last month — that’s 6.357% of all bookings.
When appointments aren’t cancelled, those slots can’t be offered to someone else who may really need them. If you know you can’t make it, please cancel in advance so we can support as many patients as possible. Thank you for helping us reduce wasted appointments and improve access for everyone.

• Order your repeat prescriptions online
• Keep track of what you’ve requested
• Stay in control of your medication at a time that suits you

Your prescription will then be sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.

It’s simple to set up and helps reduce waiting times on the phone or at the desk.

Electronic Prescribing:
Have you nominated a pharmacy for your electronic prescriptions? If not, please get in touch to let us know your preferred chemist. Since moving to this system, we’ve noticed a big drop in patients having to chase up where their prescription is. It’s a smoother process for everyone, helping staff work more efficiently and ensuring patients get their medication without unnecessary waiting.

Electronic Prescribing.
Today we have gone live with Electronic Prescribing.
What does this mean for the patient? This means that most prescriptions can be sent to your nominated pharmacy electronically.
If you normally come in to collect your prescription from the surgery please let us know which chemist you would like to nominate - we can then send all future requests direct. Please contact us and let us know. Doing this will save you an unnecessary trip to the surgery.
Please continue to allow 48-72 hours turnaround for your prescription.
Have you downloaded the NHS Wales App yet? If you do this you can order your prescription through the app and track it.
