Imbolc is almost upon us.
Winter tapers...

The first hints of fresh growth
push through the surface of the waking earth,
encouraged by the capricious energy that murmurs subtly and intermittently beneath it.

For us, it can feel conflicting.
A continuous tug and pull.

The call to hibernate still lingers,
yet as each dawn hastens,
the temptation to waken increases.
Retreats by the fire lose their allure
as a gentle yearning begins to stir.

Sleeping and waking.
An adjournment between seasonal energies.

This teasing energy promises nothing,
and yet hints at everything.

I've had some time to myself over the last few days. I spent much of it in my own world communing with nature, visiting the cows, meditating and writing - emotionally reflecting over the last few years until I truly understood my current sense of self.

The relapse in my chronic health condition is finally becoming a distant memory and I've paved the foundations towards a business that incorporates all my innate gifts and sense of purpose. My heart has forged through emotional and private pain as I realised patterns, reaching conclusions that inevitably set me free.

People tell me that they miss the regular Diary posts and the way I used to wear my heart on my sleeve in every caption, but I'm not sure that version of me will ever return because that version of me didn't acquire adequate boundaries. She was insecure, seeking validation and praise in order to garner the courage to explore the different opportunities that were branching out before her.

I don't say this to run my old self down. That version of me was the best version that she could be in those moments, but the time came when I needed to find the strength to do something without the fanfare of others, to take my Reiki journey quietly and on my own.

People have been upset with me for not including them - but I have learned that in deep privacy, magic happens.

When no one knows the contents of your current chapter until it's ended, you don't have to endure the projections and begrudging judgements of others. Even loving words of encouragement can hold unspoken expectation, and I've come to realise that the only expectations I need to live up to are my own.

Visibility once helped me to grow; now restraint is what's maturing me. And I wonder if this is less about a goodbye to vulnerability and more a redefinition of where my vulnerability belongs…

Word of the Year & Reiki is fast becoming one of my favourite Offerings to share with my clients.

We all need a guiding hand from time to time as we listen inward and set the course of our becoming. In this Offering, I work with Reiki as it moves through the current season of winter, holding you in deep relaxation so that your intuitive knowing can rise more easily to the surface.

What an enchanting way to start the year, with three days of unexpected snowfall, transforming our dormant countryside into a beautiful, winter wonderland.

I made sure I savoured every moment...

I aim to be back at the Yoga House this weekend (current virus permitting) to share the gift of Reiki with clients old and new. I will carry the energies of these winter memories with me as we hold space for what is waiting to be witnessed, and what is ready to thaw beneath my overheating hands.

When you work with me, one phrase you’ll never hear is “New Year, New Me.”

As a nature-rooted Wild Woman, I don't align with the conventional calendar. Instead I journey each year loosely around the wheel of the year - inviting the seasons to move through me.

A true new year doesn’t arrive in January with fireworks and resolutions. It begins when the first light of spring awakens within us. Some years, that flicker might arrive in mid-February. In other years, it waits in the budding branches of March, or lingers in the scent of April’s blossom.

So as January continues to unfurl, the energy I’m working with remains much the same as the final weeks of last year. This is still winter. Still a season of rest, deep listening, and quiet inner tending.

My word of the year for 2026 is 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.

Choosing a word to guide me throughout the upcoming year has been a staple in my spiritual practice for almost a decade.

As a descriptive and poetic writer, I hold a deep reverence for words and I know firsthand how powerful they can be in shaping our mindset and honing our potential.

The word "expansion" reached out to me in my mind's eye several times during my Reiki Master Healer training, and it seemed like the perfect word to propel me further, an expansion on all the words that came before it...

Purpose unfolding into Manifestation.
Manifestation asking for tentative Implementation. Discipline strengthening Competence,
and Competence fuelling Motivation...

Each one setting the scene for the forthcoming chapter.

An expansion that amplifies the heart of my nature-connectedness and Reiki practice, broadening the sacred space in which my clients can feel emotionally held and supported as they access their own innate capacity to heal.

Solstice blessings from the field!🎄🥂

To all my lovely clients, these first seven months in business have been shaped by your openness, and by your willingness to place your trust in me, my work, and my overheating hands!😉 It has been an absolute privilege to hold space for your healing, and to witness the many ways you’ve gently unearthed yourselves along the way.

A special thank you to for being such a kind and supportive colleague, and to everyone who has joined us for our Sound Bathing & Meditative Storytelling gatherings. The warmth and encouragement you bring every month don't go unnoticed.

Thank you to those who have walked beside me every step of the way - family and friends, old and new. Every hug, giggle, and reassuring word has made even the darkest chapters feel more navigable.

And to anyone else who stepped into my life this year, however fleetingly or misaligned, thank you for your small role in guiding me closer to where I needed to be.
