🚨 Volunteers Needed! 🚨

Hywel Dda is holding an extra engagement session at Carwe Hall on Tuesday 31st March (2.00pm–6.30pm) for patients at affected surgeries — and we need your help to spread the word!

📣 We’re looking for volunteers to deliver flyers and posters.

If you can help, please come along to Pontyates Welfare Hall on Monday 9th March at 7.00pm.

Hard to believe, but at this time in 1948 the public were being encouraged to sign up with a GP in anticipation of the NHS starting up in July. Here we are in 2026 fighting to save Meddygfa’r Sarn from closure. Free at the point of use for almost 80 years, yet Hywel Dda seem happy to make our ‘point of use’ inaccessible to many patients who rely on public transport. Come to stand with us on Tuesday and then tell the Health Board that they have forgotten their duty of care to this community.

Anodd credu ond adeg yma yn 1948 roedd pobl yn cael eu hannog i gofrestru gyda meddyg teulu cyn dechrau’r GIG ym mis Gorffennaf. Dyma ni yn 2026 yn brwydro i achub Meddygfa’r Sarn rhag gau. Gofal iechyd ar gael am ddim ers bron 80 mlynedd a nawr mae Hywel Dda i weld yn hapus i amddifadu cleifion sy’n dibynnu ar drafnidiaeth cyhoeddus o’r hawl yna. We still need people to hepl get more signatures on our Senedd petition. Clipboards and petitions along with flyers are available at Pontyates Pharmacy for anyone that can help. But the petitions need to be returned to the Pharmacy by 5pm Friday - so we are on a tight deadline here!

Anyone who can do Llanelli town centre I can meet you in the centre tomorrow morning with some if needed and collect off you at the end of the day.

Would be great if we could get more signatures in Pontyates, Pontyberem, Kidwelly etc.

Residents in Pontyates say confidence in the health board’s process has collapsed as they step up their fight to save the village GP surgery.

Campaigners have launched new petitions and surveys as fears grow that the closure is being pushed through without proper scrutiny.
