Moving with Curiosity: How My Physiotherapy Practice Has Evolved 💃🏻🤔🕺
Hey! I haven’t been on here for a long while, so I thought I’d update you on my physio work, & why I love this work! I’m eternally grateful for the organic development of the clinic, it’s all down to your recommendations 🙏💚🙏
After more than 20+ years 🫣 as a physio, my approach to helping people move and feel better has changed a lot. These days, I’m less interested in “fixing” parts and more curious about how we move as whole, adaptable humans.
A big influence for me has been ecological dynamics….it’s a way of understanding movement that looks at how we interact with our environment, our goals, and the constantly changing situations around us. It reminds me that movement isn’t just muscles and joints; it’s a conversation between you and the world!
Alongside this, I’m a student of the Feldenkrais Method, a somatic learning approach that uses gentle movement and awareness to improve function and self-organisation. It’s about discovering ease, efficiency, and adaptability…qualities that enhance not only performance of movement but also how we experience ourselves in motion. An incredible game changer!
Bringing these influences together, my practice is less about “fixing” and more about facilitating learning. Each session becomes a space for curiosity, exploration, and rediscovering the natural intelligence of movement. I like to approach movement with curiosity instead of correction. My Judo and Jujitsu practice (when I’m not injured 🤣) are underpinned by these approaches. 💃🏻🌱🕺
If you think I can help…..🙏
