We’re holding vaccination clinics for eligible patients this week! Protect yourself and your loved ones this winter by getting your flu and COVID vaccines.

💉 Flu & COVID Vaccine Clinics – Llangollen Health Centre 💉

We’re holding vaccination clinics for eligible patients at Llangollen Health Centre on the following dates:

📅 Tuesday 11th November – 3:00pm to 5:30pm
📅 Thursday 13th November – 2:00pm to 5:30pm

These clinics are for eligible patients who are due their flu and/or COVID vaccination.

You are eligible for a flu vaccine if you fall into one of the following groups:
✅ Aged 65 years or over
✅ Aged 6 months to under 65 years with certain long-term health conditions (such as heart, lung, kidney, liver, or neurological conditions, diabetes, or weakened immune system)
✅ Pregnant
✅ Living in a care home
✅ A carer or frontline health or social care worker
✅ Living with someone with a weakened immune system

You are eligible for a covid vaccine if you fall into one of the following groups:
✅ Aged 75 years or over
✅ Currently immunosuppressed

Please be advised that the practice will be closed on Thursday 6th November 2025, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to allow for essential staff training.

During this period:

🩺💉 Flu Clinics This Week – For Under 65s 💉🩺

We’re running two afternoon flu vaccine clinics this week just for those under 65:
📅 Monday 13th October
📅 Thursday 16th October

If you're under 65 and in a higher-risk group, it's really important to get protected — even if you feel well.
You’re eligible if you have:

✔ Asthma or COPD needing regular steroids
✔ Heart, kidney (stage 3+), or liver disease
✔ Diabetes, epilepsy, or a learning disability
✔ A weakened immune system
✔ Severe mental illness
✔ A BMI of 40 or more (age 16+)
✔ Certain neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s)

You should also get the flu jab if you’re:
👶 Aged 2–3 (on 31 August)
🏫 In school (Reception to Year 11)
🧑‍⚕️ A health/social care worker with patient contact
🏠 Living in a care home or with someone immunosuppressed
🆘 A carer, first responder, or part of a voluntary aid organisation
🚨 Homeless or a poultry worker at risk

We’re holding afternoon flu vaccine clinics for everyone aged 65 and over on:

📅 Thursday 23rd October
If you’re 65 or over (or will be by the end of March), you're eligible for a free flu jab. Even if you feel well, flu can be serious — getting vaccinated helps protect you and those around you.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT FLU & COVID VACCINATIONS FOR WINTER 2025

Patients who are eligible for both flu and covid vaccinations this year should soon be receiving their invitations to attend a clinic at the health centre. In the main, these are patients aged 75 and over.

We are in the process of sending out texts to patients aged 74 and under who are eligible for a flu vaccination only. You can check your eligibility using the link below but if you are unsure please give us a call and we can check your eligibility and book you in if you qualify. Alternatively, you can use https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/w91010 to send us a query.

Please note the eligibility criteria for the covid vaccination have changed this year. Only those aged 75 and over, resident in a care home or immunosuppressed are now eligible.

Most children and young people will have their vaccine as a quick and painless nasal spray, where a fine mist is sprayed up the nose from the tip of each nostril. The nasal spray vaccine is the recommend flu vaccine for most children and young people from the age of two.
