Its Autism awareness Month in April.
If you know me, are a client or a PA on our books you will already know that this is something that is very very close to my heart and something that I campaign, advocate and continue to further educate myself on EVERY SINGLE DAY!
Its one of the reasons that Unigol exists. Its an Idea about how the future of care should look for everyone.

This is not my video and all right and credit belong to the National autistic society.

We are proud to be working with and making sure that all our Personal Assistants are accredited in Dementia Training.
Our first set of PAs have now completed their course and have their certificates displayed in the office. They will now be moving on to individual client courses such as Autism, Epilepsy and Diabetes.

Dementia TREK 26

We're taking on a 13‑mile trek across the breathtaking Brecon Beacons to support everyone affected by dementia.
On 13 June, we walk with purpose—honouring loved ones, raising awareness, and helping fund life‑changing support and research.

Every step matters.
Every mile helps push forward hope.
And we’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Whether you sponsor, share, or cheer us on from afar, you’re helping us make a meaningful difference for people living with dementia and the families who stand beside them.

Together, we trek towards a kinder future.

I have a community board in the hallway of 3 Boverton road (Gwyneth Morgans opticians). I am looking for several things.

1. If you are a maker, a crafter or you sell things for charity. Then we have an opportunity for you to have a shelf to sell your items as part of our eventual community space. In the future you will find teas and coffees from 10 till 3 daily as well as citizens advice, alzheimers society and other 3rd sector organisations. The shelf space fee will go back into the teas and coffees.

2. If you have a group, an event or a charity. Drop in a poster, a card, an advert or anything so we can let people know. Not everyone is on social media.

3. I also want to start a list of reputable local companies that will help the community. (Not free services) but a place where people can look and trust that they wont be taken advantage of. So plumbers, gardners, handymen etc (I will check reviews and assist people to access the services safely if needed!

4. If you have something that you would like to do in the community with a group, we also host a community event every 6 weeks (average)

BASICALLY POP IN TALK TO US, LETS WORK TOGETHER ❤️💪

“You can’t use Direct Payments for anything that isn’t ‘care’.”

✔️ Truth:
The law in Wales is based on well‑being, not “tasks.”
Support can include anything that helps you achieve your personal outcomes — emotional, social, physical, or practical.
This is written directly into the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act.

“If you don’t use all your hours every week, we’ll take them away.”

✔️ Truth:
This is one of the most damaging myths.
Direct Payments are not meant to punish people for having good days, bad days, or fluctuating needs.
Unused hours can often be:
• Carried forward
• Used flexibly
• Reallocated to meet outcomes in a different way
Reviews should be supportive, not punitive.
