Being a young mum can feel overwhelming…

There can be pressure, judgement, and expectations from every direction.
You might feel like you have to have it all figured out, when inside, you’re just trying to get through the day.
But here’s the truth…
💛 You are doing better than you think
💙 You are not alone in how you feel
🌸 And you deserve support, not judgement
In Wales, hundreds of young women become mums every year — and many will need support at some point. Not because they’re failing… but because parenting is hard, and life doesn’t come with a manual.
At Mothers Matter, we walk alongside young mums every single day.
No pressure. No expectations. Just real support when you need it most.
Whether it’s: ✨ Someone to talk to
✨ Support with your mental health
✨ Help with baby essentials
✨ Guidance for your future
We are here.
Because every young mum deserves a chance to thrive not just survive.

The HDRC (Health Determinants Research Collaboration) is inviting residents across RCT to share their experiences of walking, cycling and wheeling for everyday journeys.

What is Active Travel?

Active Travel means getting around by walking, cycling or wheeling, whether that’s travelling to work or school, heading to the shops, or attending appointments like your GP or pharmacy.

RCT Council is working to make these journeys easier, safer and more accessible and your input will help shape that work.

Why take part?

The survey will help HDRC to:

🔹 Understand where Active Travel routes are most needed

🔹 Measure the impact of Active Travel on health and wellbeing

🔹 Raise awareness and understand how people use local routes and facilities

By sharing your experiences, you’ll help build a clearer picture of what works well, what could be improved and the barriers people face.

📝 Take the survey today: Active Travel Questionnaire | Make a Change RCT

Your voice can help create safer, healthier and more connected communities across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

What are the signs of Maternal Mental Health

Becoming a mum is often described as one of the happiest times in your life… but for so many, it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and confusing.
Sometimes the signs aren’t loud.
They can be quiet thoughts, heavy feelings, or moments where things just don’t feel right.
Feeling tearful, anxious, disconnected, or like you’re not good enough does not mean you’re failing. It means you might need support and that’s okay.

You are not alone in this. So many mums feel this way, 1-5 mum's suffer with Perinatal Mental Health, even if it’s not always spoken about.

At Mothers Matter, we see you, we hear you, and we walk alongside you through it without judgement, without pressure, just understanding.

If this resonates with you or someone you know, please reach out. Talking really can change everything.

You are not alone 💛
