5 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Pregnancy ๐คฐ
๐ซ Myth: Morning sickness only happens in the morning
โ
Truth: Nausea (and/or vomiting) during pregnancy can occur at any time of day ๐, due to changes in your hormones. For most women, it's more common in the morning and begins to improve after 3 months. But for some women, it's different.
๐ซ Myth: Cream can help avoid stretch marks
โ
Truth: There is no evidence that creams or oils can remove or prevent stretch marks, which often fade in time ๐ฐ๏ธ.
๐ซ Myth: My heartburn means my baby has lots of hair
โ
Truth: One small research study showed there might be a connection between having heartburn in pregnancy and the thickness of your baby's hair ๐ผ. However, heartburn is quite common in pregnancy.
๐ซ Myth: I canโt exercise, it will harm the baby
โ
Truth: The more active and fit you are during pregnancy ๐โโ๏ธ, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour. Keep up your normal daily physical activity or exercise (sport, running, yoga, dancing, or even walking to the shops and back) for as long as you feel comfortable. Exercise is not dangerous for your baby ๐คฑ. There is evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour. Always check with your GP if you have any concerns.
๐ซ Myth: I need to prepare my ni***es for breastfeeding
โ
Truth: There is no evidence that you need to prepare or toughen your ni***es before birth ๐ถ.
