It can be incredibly hard and terrifying to reach out and go for therapy, especially if this is not your 'norm'. By doing this, you are admitting to yourself that you need help, and as human being's we are very much used to being in control, at times though you need to let someone else take control and lead you into the right direction.
This particular client had never had any experience of therapy or difficulties with their mental health. So coming to therapy was out of the 'norm' for them.
They came to me as they were suffering with intrusive thoughts and having very vivid dreams. When we experience these things, it is our minds way of telling us that there is something underlying that needs addressing, something may have happened to trigger emotions that have been buried for so long, or the thought that this has been dealt with.
This client gave it their all to the therapy process and really took onboard everything that was discussed in the sessions.
This client now has a much clearer mind, has dealt with past issues and healed from them, and is able to now move forward in life in a more positive and productive way.
