A deeply uncool photo, but that's just how things are here.

This is me getting silly when someone receives my book and says it was helpful!

This is also me catching up with that someone, just after a run (hence the red face).

So embarrassing that it's taken me months to post!

Being Australian isn't just about where I grew up.

It's shaped everything about me - my attitude, directness, and even the name of my business WTF Money. Because let's be honest, if you've worked with me, you know I don't do fluff, jargon or sugarcoating.

Aussies are known for calling it like it is, getting stuck in, and adding a healthy dose of humour even in the toughest times. That no-nonsense, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin, sweary nature? That's my superpower.

Others might call it 'wildly inappropriate' - but it's shaped how I do business, how I write and how I help others cut through the noise and get sh*t done.

So here's to being unapolegetically Australian. To telling people that you care - and asking tough questions. To saying WTF? And changing what you do when things aren't working.

How has your idendity shaped the way you work and live? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Proof of life...

My book and I are still alive.

Only one month, three DIY book reformats and 14 rejected eProofs after originally submitting my book for printing!

The Money Pizza book may actually be seen in real life next week.

It's a little late, but on its way!

Looking forward to sharing even more soon.

Bring on the weekend 🥳🥳🥳

Despite law changes, pay secrecy is still the norm.

But it's holding us back.

Overcoming the barriers to talking about money, effective negotiation, and advocacy is one way I help my clients.

But every client is different.

Which is why I only offer personalised money coaching.

If you're in a hurry to transform your relationship with money, and want weekly coaching instead of monthly, I have an offer for you.

Sign up before Monday 25th March and you can benefit from weekly coaching sessions so that you can be sorted IN TIME FOR SUMMER!

The investment is £1,190 for all seven sessions.

DM me for more details.

Tsundoku

When you have more books than you can possibly read.

It's the weakness of the coach, this idea that one more book will be the key to success.

Since it's World Book Day today, I thought I'd post my 'To Be Read' pile.

Only a few of these will change by 2025...

What's on your pile?

What's really going to move the dial on equality this ?

Talking about money. Breaking taboos.

Changing norms.

On the left is the beautiful magnolia tree that I passed on Sunday to go to (on the right) the Vestpod Money Matters Festival - where a whole theatre full of women got together to talk about money and break taboos.

I could not have done this without the support of my husband, who stayed home and did the childcare.

You know, like he normally does.

The man who has done the most for inclusion and equality in my life is not going to be posing for a photo on Friday and making a heart shape with his hands to 'inspire inclusion' for women.

He's not going to a coffee morning. Or sitting on a manel, talking about how we could all be doing it better.

F&* # that.

He's doing the same boring sh*t that actually supports gender equality: childcare, shopping, domestic work, cooking, making boring but necessary decisions about what we're going to eat, and shopping.

You know - the valuable stuff.

Who is supporting you this ?

Is it spring yet?

In London it's the time of year where it feels like the winter will never end.

We've had a little glimpse of warmer weather, and now it's freezing with rain again.

This reflects some of the conversations with clients and colleagues about money and business.

It seems like everyone is struggling and juggling commitments.

I'm deep in the middle of it too, so I know it's hard to remain optimistic for our own sakes.

But optimism and reframing your scenario can be worthwhile for boosting your mood.

Where can you find the positives in this tricky time of year?

What good have your bad money habits ever done for you?

I'm here to say, it's time to stop beating yourself up for having a 'bad' money habit - because at some point, that habit did you some good.

That's how we start habits - good and bad!

There has to be some payoff to get the dopamine hit which embeds a habit.

Your habit may have helped you feel like you belong, like you are successful, or helped you to avoid painful feelings.

That's okay. And maybe that habit isn't so good for you anymore, and it's time to break up.

Try this: write down all the ways your bad habit helped you. And then say: 'thank you, I don't need you anymore. I'm choosing to do something different.'

How does it make you feel?

What's your one bad money habit that you would like to change?

If you were to write that habit a break-up note, what would you say?

Bad money habits are like bad boyfriends/girlfriends.

Remember when you started out with that bad-for-you boy/girl friend? There was something good about it, right?

They got you out of your safety zone.....introduced you to a different view on life.....and you probably had a lot of fun.

Heck, maybe you just needed them for a little bit of spice in your life.

But now it's no longer serving you to be in a relationship with that person.

I invite you to think about your 'bad' money habits in a similar way.

They were probably 'good' for you somehow, for a little while.

You can acknowledge the good bits, and at the same time give yourself permission to let go.

I hate to say it...

I'm very sorry to have had to cancel a workshop today which I was very much looking forward to.

Having recovered pretty well from the flu which laid me out this weekend, this morning took a turn for the worst and I made the decision.😢

Transform Your Money Habits will be rescheduled, I promise. Once these germs have been purged.
