KYN KYN - Unrivalled Care Homes
For our mothers, for our fathers, for our KYN. Located in Hurlingham, Bickley, Kensington (2028), Highgate (2028).

Whether staying for short term recovery, or moving in for the longer term, our approach doesn’t change. We believe that quality of life is ageless, and days are defined by good company and great experience, alongside unrivalled care.

Recovery from illness or surgery can sometimes feel slow, repetitive, even isolating - so we focus just as much on the beauty, culture and stimulation residents experience in between sessions, keeping motivation high and spirits steady.

We are delighted to share our new rehab studio at KYN Hurlingham, expanding our commitment to restorative care.

Designed for both short and long-term residents, it elevates our focus on personalised rehabilitation in a deeply supportive environment that delivers results.

Working closely with residents is our in-house physiotherapist, Ronan Briody, whose research-led approach shapes how rehabilitation is delivered day to day. With a background in physiotherapy and exercise science, Ronan combines hands-on expertise with evidence-based practice, supporting residents through both pre- and postoperative recovery. In collaboration with the clinical team, he helps ensure care is consistent, thoughtful and tailored to each resident.

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome British artist and designer Ged Palmer to KYN Bickley. His work in traditional sign writing reflects a deep respect for hand-painted techniques and enduring craftsmanship. Ged’s lettering can be seen across London’s streets, from traditional pub signs to independent shopfronts, reflecting a craft many will recognise from everyday walks around the city.

The visit began with an informal talk, sharing stories and insights into his projects, followed by a demonstration of traditional sign writing techniques.

A considered and creative addition to the day, bringing something a little different into the home.

In the lead up to Easter, our residents gathered for chocolate-making with our Executive Chef Tristan Welch.

Starting with roasted cocoa beans, Tristan took us back to the very first chocolate drinks brought to Europe in the 18th century - blended with water, warming spices, and a little honey. A rich, gently spiced flavour, both comforting and energising.

Tristan then began a step by step guide on how to make a chocolate bar, sharing tips for achieving a professional looking glossy finish. He topped the bars with currants, sea salt, nuts, and a hint of chilli, and the tasting soon became a lively debate on the best flavours.

At KYN, our holistic care supports mind, body, and spirit, with Life Enrichment experiences guided by what residents love - offering opportunities to experience life together in meaningful ways.

Meet Vanessa Czirkovits, a registered nurse and our Deputy Home Manager at KYN Hurlingham. Vanessa will be leading the clinical team hosting our Health & Wellbeing Day on 25 March.

Vanessa began her nursing career by spending five years caring for our community as part of our local district nursing team. During this time, she gained extensive experience supporting people with complex health needs and developed a strong clinical interest in wound care and tissue viability. She works closely with our Director of Clinical and Dementia Care and Queen’s Nurse, Suzanne Mumford, and together they are passionate about leading the home team to provide truly person-centred and compassionate care.

Yesterday we welcomed a full house for an inspiring talk by the exceptional portrait photographer Hugo Burnand, exploring his unique style and approach as official royal photographer alongside the legacy of Cecil Beaton.

Residents and guests were taken behind the scenes of the royal wedding and coronation, with Hugo sharing a generous mix of humour, insight, and sparkling anecdotes from a remarkable career.

As a trusted member of the KYN circle, we are delighted to recommend Hugo Burnand for special family portraits, arranged via concierge for our residents.

KYN provides post-surgery, residential and nursing care in beautiful surroundings in Fulham.

Everything we do starts with the people of KYN, we couldn’t do what we do without our team. We ensure those who dedicate their lives to caring for others are themselves supported, empowering them to provide considered company to our residents.

Outside of our doors, KYN is proud to be a supporter member of The Care Workers' Charity, a national organisation providing support to others working in social care across the UK.

Looking back at Burns Night, our homes were filled with the sights, sounds, and flavours of Scottish tradition. A bagpiper set the scene as residents enjoyed a special menu by our Executive Chef Tristan Welch, including nourishing Scotch broth and classic haggis, served fresh from the kitchen.

With a wish to warmly welcome the local community, residents at KYN Bickley started Kind Connections — an initiative inviting neighbours to share good company and meaningful experiences.

Today marked the first Kind Connections Café, opened by the Deputy Mayor of Bromley. Guests enjoyed Letters Live, a staged reading of six letters brought to life by Mercedes [pictured with Jessica Shiel, our Head of Life Enrichment & Wellbeing and Emily Williams our Senior Client Manager] and the team at Quest Soul Theatre, followed by conversation and afternoon tea in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
