Our stories are precious - they tell who we are, capture our past experiences, connections, interests and values. By knowing a person’s story, we learn what makes them tick.

Before a resident moves into KYN we start to build our understanding of their story - past, present and future. Asking about early life memories, the qualities our residents admire in the people around them, and who is important to them can be particularly revealing. This helps our team honour each resident’s identity fostering dignity as well as respectful familiarity.

An evening of fine whisky, storytelling and good company.

KYN Hurlingham was delighted to welcome whisky expert and storyteller Tony McGeever for a guided tasting featuring four distinctive drams paired with delicious chocolates.

From Scotland to Ireland, on to Japan and back to Scotland, Tony brought each glass to life with tales of craft, heritage and origin, stimulating shared memories and exchanged stories amongst our residents.

This autumn, KYN Bickley welcomes artist Emily Tracy, who will be leading our residents in one-to-one sessions, group workshops, demonstrations of her own practice, and art appreciation sessions.

Emily’s past work includes collaborations with the Museum of London, Bletchley Park and the Arts Council.
