🐣Join us for an egg-citing afternoon at Lomond View Care Home in Falkland as we host our Easter Fun Day on Saturday 4th April from 2pm–4pm.

There’ll be raffles, refreshments, Easter activities and stalls, with plenty going on to bring residents, families and the local community together for a lovely afternoon of fun and connection.

It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy time together in the home, strengthen community connections and share in the spirit of Easter.

We’d also be very grateful for any raffle prize donations ahead of the event. Donations can be handed into the home directly and would be warmly welcomed.

We’d love to see you there. 💐

It’s wonderful to see resident feedback shaping life at Preston House in Glenrothes. After our recent residents’ meeting, many people said they would enjoy an evening activity from time to time, so they are now trialling a weekly Wednesday evening get-together.

Wednesday's cheese and wine tasting evening brought residents and staff together for a relaxed and sociable time filled with good conversation, laughter and lovely company. From sampling a range of cheeses to enjoying a glass of wine, it was an evening that created real connection in the home and gave everyone something a little different to look forward to. 🍷🧀✨

A special thank you to the wonderful team who helped make the evening such a success. As Activities Co-ordinator Megan shared: “Thank you again to the wonderful staff that helped make the evening a success for our residents – evenings like these are one of the reasons I love my job.” 💕

Creating opportunities like this helps to enrich lives, strengthen friendships within the home and make space for meaningful moments together.

🚗💦 A little shoutout for something special happening this weekend… 💙

As part of Staff Appreciation Week, we want to shine a light on another one of our staff members who truly lives what care is all about.

Neil Anderson, a valued member of our maintenance team at Fernlea House, is giving up his Saturday to host a Car Wash Fundraiser – all to raise money for our Resident’s Comfort Fund.

This isn’t the first time Neil has gone above and beyond. His dedication, kindness and willingness to do that little bit extra for residents saw him recognised as Maintenance Colleague of the Year at our Holmes Care Group Awards last year 👏

Now he’s doing it all again… and Fernlea House would love your support.

🚗Car wash
📍 Fernlea House Care Home, 18 Wallsgreen Road, Cardenden
📅 Saturday 28th March
⏰ 11am – 3pm
💷 £8 per car

Every wash helps create more extra special moments for residents.

If you’re local, pop along, get your car sparkling and support something that makes a real difference in our community 💙

At Willow House last week, it was all about celebrating the goodness in every bite as part of Nutrition & Hydration Week 🍓🧀

Residents were captured with their colourful, healthy plates of food filled with fresh fruit, crunchy vegetables, cheese and crackers. A great activity which encouraged personal choice and brought everyone together in the lounge.

These special times help support wellbeing while creating a warm, social environment where residents can connect, share and enjoy everyday experiences together.

Sometimes it’s the little things that say the most 💙

Across our homes this week, teams have been putting together treats for staff as part of Staff Appreciation Week – a small gesture to say a VERY big thank you.

While these may only be tokens, they come with a huge amount of gratitude. Because the care, compassion and dedication our teams show each and every day goes far beyond anything that could ever be wrapped up.

From early mornings to late nights, from moments of laughter to times of reassurance, it’s our people who make our homes what they are – places filled with warmth, kindness and connection.

As we continue celebrating our TRUST values, this week reminds us that being Thoughtful is often found in the simplest of gestures… and the biggest of hearts.

To all of our incredible teams – thank you for everything you do to enrich lives every single day 💙

👏Join us in saying a big thank you to our staff members 👏

As Staff Appreciation Week begins across Holmes Care Group, it’s the perfect time to shine a light on the everyday kindness, thoughtfulness and dedication our teams bring into our homes 💚

A lovely example of this was shared by the Beechwood team when they spoke about Ali Salman, one of the amazing Care Assistants in their Holdsworth Unit. Alongside his wife, he kindly helped create decorations for the home to mark Ramadan before heading off to Eid prayers. It was a simple but meaningful gesture that created a real sense of connection, warmth and understanding within the home.

In return, our kitchen team made beautiful biscuits for Ali and our residents to enjoy together at tea time to celebrate Eid – another lovely moment that shows how kindness is always shared and reciprocated within our homes.

This reflects our Staff Appreciation Week theme of TRUST, which underpins everything we do – togetherness, respect, understanding, support and teamwork. These values are brought to life each day by our teams, in moments big and small.

🍹 Cheers to National Cocktail Day… with a twist!

At Larkfield View Care Home in Greenock, we’ve been raising a glass in our own way – enjoying delicious mocktails as part of our recent Nutrition & Hydration Week celebrations.

Our residents loved choosing their favourite flavours from our very own cocktail trolley, complete with colourful drinks, fresh ingredients and even a wee cocktail umbrella for that extra touch of fun ☂️

But it’s about more than just a lovely treat. Staying hydrated is so important for our residents’ health and wellbeing, and finding creative, enjoyable ways to encourage fluid intake can make all the difference. By turning drinks into a social, shared experience, we help support both physical health and those all-important moments of connection.

Because sometimes, it’s the simple things – a refreshing drink, a chat with friends, and a bit of laughter – that truly enrich lives 💙

When the sun finally came out this week, residents at Almond View Care Home made the most of it with a lovely trip to Troon ☀️

Enjoying the fresh sea air, beautiful coastal views and time together outside the home, it was a day full of simple pleasures and shared moments.

And of course, no trip to the seaside would be complete without some tasty fish suppers to round things off 🍟🐟

Days like these are what it’s all about 💚 Where's the first place you head to when the sun comes out?

There was a little bit of magic in the air at Preston House on Mother’s Day weekend ✨

Across Saturday and Sunday, our home in Glenrothes was filled with love, laughter and special moments shared between residents, families and our team. From a beautifully prepared afternoon tea to a lively singalong with Jack High, there was something for everyone to enjoy 💐

Our reception area – home to Peggy’s Café Bar – became the heart of the celebrations, with delicious cakes, fresh scones and sandwiches bringing everyone together. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, dancing, singing and simply enjoying time with one another.

Weekends like this are what it’s all about – spending time together, sharing stories and creating a real sense of community within the home.

🎶 Music, laughter and community – a wonderful day for our residents at Larkfield View.

Our Larkfield View residents recently enjoyed a lovely visit with the Dementia Choir at Lyle Kirk in Greenock. The afternoon began with a light lunch before everyone joined together for singing, dancing and plenty of smiles. It’s a fantastic monthly gathering, kindly organised by volunteers at Lyle Kirk, that brings people together through the joy of music.

We’re also delighted that the choir will soon be visiting Larkfield View so residents who prefer to stay at home can still enjoy the music and the company.

A heartfelt thank you to the volunteers and our local community for helping create such meaningful moments that truly enrich lives. 💙
