Ever wonder what a Eurasian Elk looks like??? Well our residents at Walton House in Leven got the chance to see one up close on their latest adventure out with the bus team to The Scottish Deer Centre & Wildlife Park in Fife.. 🦌

Set across 55 acres of beautiful countryside, the park is home to 12 species of deer from around the world and our residents even got to see a majestic Eurasian Elk up close!

From bears to playful otters, there was plenty to see and talk about on this unforgettable trip.

A special day like this was about enjoying getting out into nature, sparking our curiosity, and sharing special moments together. 🌿❤️

🎃🧡 Halloween Fun in Crossgates! 🧡🎃

Our wonderful teams, residents and families at Alexander House and Craigie House in Crossgates embraced the spirit of Halloween with a fantastic pumpkin carving competition — and what a creative bunch they are! From funny faces to autumnal designs, the effort and imagination that went into each pumpkin were amazing. 🍂✨

The celebrations carried on with a Halloween party, where Vikings, pirates and witches filled the room with laughter, music and plenty of smiles. We even had some traditional apple-dooking — and of course, a few sweet treats! 🍏🎶

Congratulations to Resident Pirate Jim, who took home the coveted prize for best costume, and to Mollie (aka Princess Fiona) for winning the pumpkin carving competition with her fantastic Alexander House pumpkin! 👑🎃

🎃🍂 Pumpkin Picking Adventures from Methven House! 🍂🎃

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic autumn outing with the fabulous Bus Team to Cairnie Fruit Farm for a spot of pumpkin picking! 🎃 The crisp air and golden leaves made the perfect backdrop for a day filled with laughter and fresh air.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a stop at the café for coffee and cake ☕🍰 — and we even had a little autumnal singalong on the coach on the way home! 🎶

It's special to share moments together, embracing the beauty of the season and the warmth of our Methven House community. 💛

🎉 Happy 90th Birthday, Alan! 🎉

This week we celebrated Alan’s 90th birthday at Craigie House in Crossgates, surrounded by friends and staff. 🥳

During the week Alan also shared stories from his sporting days and his passion for sport truly shone through! 🏸

He started playing badminton at just 8 years old, going on to compete in singles matches across Scotland and England. He told us how much everyone loved playing “it was all about the fun.”

Although he gave up badminton in his 60s, Alan still follows the sport closely (and we’re sure we can tempt him into a friendly game or two!)

Alan has always loved swimming, golf and rugby too. Sport has played a big part in his life, and we loved hearing all his memories. ❤️

💙 65 Years of Love and Laughter! 💙

We had a truly special day at Beechwood Care Home in Wishaw last week as we celebrated Janet and Jim Bowman’s 65th Wedding Anniversary — their Blue Sapphire milestone! 💍✨

The couple first met when they were dancing at the Pally (Lanark Palace) as it was affectionately known, where Jim, who was a shepherd at the time, won Janet’s heart by letting her help feed the lambs during lambing season! They married in Bonkle Church in 1960 and have called Wishaw home since 1968, raising a beautiful family of three sons, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. 💕

Janet and Jim enjoyed a wonderful afternoon surrounded by family, friends, and our Beechwood team, with music, cake and lots of happy memories shared.

Cathy Togneri, Service Manager at Beechwood Care Home said:

“It was a real privilege to celebrate such an incredible milestone with Janet and Jim. Their love story is truly inspiring, and our team were delighted to make their day extra special. We always say that Beechwood is one big family, and this day really showed that.”

Janet and Jim added:
“We’ve shared a wonderful life together, full of laughter and love. It means the world to us that everyone made such an effort, we’ll remember this day for a long time.”

🎃 Pumpkin Picking at Craigies Farm! 🎃

Residents from Craigie House and Alexander House in Crossgates have been getting into the autumn spirit as they prepare for National Pumpkin Day on 26th October with their very own Pumpkin Carving Competition!

They had a wonderful day out at Craigies Farm, choosing pumpkins straight from the patch. Everyone agreed it was something a little bit different and a lot of fun! 🧡

We can’t wait to see all the creative designs that will take shape over the next week. If you’re visiting either of the homes, why not grab a pumpkin and join in the fun? 🎨✨
