Don't Fall for Skiing Injuries of the Shoulder: What Every Winter Sports Enthusiast Should Know

As ski season approaches, I'm reminded of something we see too often in sports medicine: shoulder injuries from those exhilarating downhill adventures.

While we all love the rush of carving through fresh powder, the combination of speed, challenging terrain, and unexpected falls makes skiing particularly tough on shoulders. From dislocations and rotator cuff tears to clavicle fractures and AC joint sprains - these injuries can sideline you not just for the season, but potentially impact your everyday activities.

What many don't realize is that proper preparation, technique, and knowing when to call it a day can significantly reduce your risk. In my experience, most serious shoulder injuries happen during that "one last run" when fatigue has already set in.
Have you experienced or witnessed a skiing shoulder injury? What prevention strategies work for you?

Mr Klinke was a delightful person who gave me an outstanding support during the decision process of which procedure would be the best for my case. I trusted his judgment, operating skills and the follow up after the operation was completed, has been top notch. His reports after appointments have been very thorough and helpful.
