On International Volunteers Day, we want to recognise our wonderful volunteer Gill Feeley. Gill has been a part of Ashmead since her mum became a resident here back in 2014 and after her mums' passing in 2019 Gill made the decision to stay in Ashmead as a volunteer.

She is passionate about elderly and dementia care and raises awareness through her volunteering work. Gill has done some wonderful work for us, including fundraising at the start of her volunteering journey, to making connections with Putney Rotary Club and supporting with residents trips out.

Gill continues to be a valued part of Ashmead and today, on International Volunteers Day, we want to say a huge THANK YOU from the Team in Ashmead for your continued support!

👧👦✨ World Children’s Day at Ashmead Care Home 🌍💙

Children from Granard Primary School joined us for a special nursery visit. The people living with us and little ones shared rhymes, games, and storytelling, creating magical moments across generations.

To make the day even brighter, each child received a handmade card from our residents as a gift. 💌 The smiles, laughter, and love truly captured the spirit of grandparents’ care and more...connection.

A big thank you to Granard Primary School for bringing so much happiness to our home and together we made World Children’s Day unforgettable! 🌟

💪✨ Cheers to International Men’s Day! 🎯🏹

On Wednesday, 19th November, the lovely people living with us came together for a celebration filled with laughter, games, and camaraderie. We had archery , music, drinks, and popcorn, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy and smiles all around.

A couple of our lovely ladies also joined in the fun, making the day even more special. Thank you to everyone who helped create such memorable moments!

On Friday, 7th November at 11:00 AM, we gathered together with those living with us and their families for a heartfelt Memorial Service in remembrance of those who have departed.

The service was beautifully led by Sarah from St. Margaret's Church, creating a space for reflection, comfort, and shared memories.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in honouring those who will forever remain in our hearts. 💙 Gone but never forgotten.

We were honoured to host Jan Inge Ebbesvik (Marked Developer, President Road Worlds for Seniors) and Aleksander (Video Lead) from Motiview (Norway) at Ashmead for the Cyclist Competition Award Ceremony!

The competition ran from 6th October to 31st October, and our amazing participants received certificates and medals to commemorate their incredible efforts! 🚴‍♀️✨

Ashmead ranked 5th in England and 59th globally, covering an impressive 1,085.0 km! 👏 A big thank you to our Home Manager Lumi and all staff for making this event memorable.

Spooky Fun for Halloween at Ashmead!🎃👻

We had a fantastic afternoon of "Trick or Treat". Our staff got into the spooky spirit dressed as witches and wizards, visiting those living with us with a ghoulishly decorated trolley.

Everyone enjoyed the tricks, treats, and plenty of laughs!🍬

Yeehaw! Country & Western Fun at Ashmead!

We had a fantastic afternoon today with a country and a western themed party! The lovely people living with us enjoyed country music, delicious cakes, and even some snazzy hats. 🤠

The real star of the show was our resident, Herbert, who treated us all to a brilliant performance, playing his Guitar and singing country songs!✨

Celebrating Global Champagne Day with Style!🥂

The bubbles were flowing and the smiles were endless as those living with us and staff at Ashmead raised a glass to celebrate Global Champagne Day!

We had a fantastic afternoon indulging in a delightful spread of wines, cheese, and crackers, followed by music and dancing.🧀💃🕺

It was a great day filled with laughter and great company. Here's to creating Happy memories together!

Diwali Celebration at Ashmead!

To celebrate Diwali, our home came together for a vibrant Diwali lunch filled with colour, music, and togetherness.

The people living with us and our Lifestyle Team prepared a delicious Indian-themed menu featuring chicken curry, rice, dal curry, and kheer and a variety of savoury items such as samosas and Gulab jamun. The Lifestyle staff also made Kesari (an Indian sweet) and mango lassi, which everyone enjoyed.

The dining room was beautifully decorated with Diwali-themed décor and traditional Indian music playing in the background, creating a festive atmosphere.

To make the day even more special, we organised Rangoli painting and a Diwali word search activity, with small gifts for residents who participated.

It was a wonderful day full of smiles and celebrating cultures!

A Bah-mazing Visit From the Ems Friendly Farm🐑

We were delighted to welcome the Ems Friendly Farm and their lovely animals for a morning full of smile and laughter.

Those living with us had the chance to meet and feed the friendly sheep Lolly and Dolly, give gentle pats to Honey the Pony, and enjoy watching the playful baby goats exploring around🐐.

The visit brought so much happiness, comfort, and More...Connection - a heartwarming experience for everyone!

World Smile Day at Our Ashmead!

We had a lovely time celebrating World Smile Day. Everyone enjoyed delicious cake, crisps, beer and cider, and lots of music. We sang, danced, and had so much fun together through More...Movement.

We also made a Smile Photo Booth where those living with us and staff took cheerful pictures to remember the day. It was full of laughter and happy moments!

🍂Autumn Outing to Putney Exchange🍁

A group of the people living with us enjoyed a lovely trip to Putney Exchange Shopping Centre. They had a wonderful time browsing the shops and admiring the beautiful autumn decoration.

We stopped at Costa Coffee, where everyone enjoyed a warm cup of tea along with a delicious croissant☕🥐. On the way back, we treated ourselves to some classic McDonalds chips with ketchup🍟- which brought lots of smiles!

Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the day and it was a real pleasure to see everyone so happy and relaxed!
