Learning in UK made me realised how often we overlook the link between mental and physical health. During my own challenging phase, it became clear that nutrition advice alone isn’t enough if someone is struggling emotionally.
The NHS and Public Health England emphasise that mental wellbeing is one of the core pillars of overall health — affecting appetite, digestion, and long-term disease risk. Evidence shows that poor mental health can increase inflammation, impact gut health, and even alter food choices.
As healthcare professionals, it’s our duty to support both mind and body. A balanced plate means little without a balanced mind. 💚
