✨ BROWN FOODS FOR YOUR B***S 😆
With today being the first day of the first day of as well as the day 🇳🇬 proclaimed independence from British rule 60 years ago, today is definitely a day that I resonate with, because of my Nigerian heritage, living in the UK and my experience of
The subject of being a Nigerian living in the ‘Western World’ and adopting Western ways of living is an interesting one and presents several questions.
Are the same resources that are available to my English counterparts available to me - the same level of healthcare, services, access to potentially lifesaving treatments or food knowledge/options...?
Is the western lifestyle of living conducive to people of other cultures?
How do we adapt to eating habits, social interactions and ways of moving our bodies in this new culture without a negative impact on our physical, emotional and mental health?
Do we totally understand this new culture and it’s effects (particularly in the long term) or do we need to draw the line at some point?
What are your thoughts on this?

DID YOU KNOW? Research has shown that BAME people are more likely to experience poverty, food insecurity and problems accessing adequate healthcare. Recent events have further highlighted the disproportionate impact on certain groups.

- On a positive note, the relevant information is available to us all with some research, so we need to be more and start making the right decisions for our health and selecting foods that provide us with adequate - choose brown over white where possible. Brown varieties provide prebiotic fibre which is imperative for and has several vitamins and minerals . White varieties are refined and have the most nutritious parts of the grain removed. 😱 Brown rice instead of white for anyone? 🙋🏽‍♀️
