🎄✨ Elf Day Celebrations ✨🎄

Our care homes and hospitals celebrated Elf Day in style recently, with plenty of festive cheer, creative outfits and fun-filled activities, all while raising vital funds and awareness for people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer's Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising efforts towards finding a cure for dementia.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and made this day such a success.

Residents really enjoyed 🐾Michelle’s animal therapy session🐾, spending time petting and interacting with all the animals. We had a ginger pig, a rabbit, a cat, a turtle, and two adorable Chihuahua dogs. The residents expressed a strong sense of comfort and relaxation while being around them.

We were delighted to welcome children from our local community into Cheverton Lodge, where they sang beautiful Christmas songs for our residents, who truly enjoyed every moment. After the performance, the children were treated to healthy snacks and Christmas goodie bags, which left them all feeling excited and happy.

What a lovely afternoon and evening it was for Barry, who had his family and friends invited for a big lunch.

Everyone truly enjoyed their meal sipping on wine🍷 with good chats and laughter, and gave thanks to the chef! for his amazing cooking and the delicious pudding for dessert.
It was the perfect way to celebrate and appreciate a special moment like this for Barry and his Loved ones❤️.

🌟What a lovely first day of the festive month at Cheverton Lodge! 🌟

We had the honour of welcoming the Deputy Mayor of Islington, Rosalie, who joined us to switch on our Christmas lights🎄💡.
The residents were thrilled to meet her and enjoyed spending time together, sipping Prosecco🥂indulging in mince pies and samosas while sharing warm and cheerful conversations.

⭐ Threshfield Court Coordinates Christmas Toy Collection 🎄

Kind-hearted relatives, friends and staff from Threshfield Court Care Home in coordinated a collection of new and used toys to give to the Reuse Santa Campaign run by Yorwaste Limited ,who donate pre-loved toys to less fortunate children, in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.

Colleagues, relatives and local community members generously donated their pre-loved toys to support the campaign and it was a real team effort - residents helped organise the toys into age brackets to get them ready to send off to the council.

The home’s Activities Assistant, Millie, and Glenn, Maintenance Assistant, packed up the home’s minibus and drove to the local Yorwaste Management site in Skipton to donate all the lovely toys.

Stacey Nicholson, General Manager at the home, shared: “... Huge thanks from all of us at Threshfield Court to everyone who supported this wonderful project and helped us spread some joy this Christmas.”

What a fantastic initiative. 👏

What a beautiful morning it was as residents and staff were instantly captivated by the enchanting voices of the performers.
Their singing and expressive acting filled the room with warmth, drawing smiles from everyone who watched.

The atmosphere sparkled with joy and togetherness, allowing everyone to feel the early spirit of Christmas in the most heart-warming way.

🎉 International Men's Day Celebrations 🎉

Residents, patients, colleagues and families came together to celebrate International Men’s Day in style recently.

Throughout the day gentlemen up and down the country enjoyed exciting experiences, including pub visits, games of bowling and pool and plenty of time for sharing stories and advice.

There was also time for more relaxed gentlemen’s club-style activities, giving residents the chance to chat and enjoy some refreshing beers.

We would like to wish our lovely resident Jean a wonderful and heartfelt 96th birthday! She was truly spoiled today with plenty of chocolates, cards, presents, and lots of love from her family and the staff. Jean also enjoyed a delicious birthday cake made especially for her by our chef. What a beautiful day of celebration! 🎉💐

We were delighted to be chosen to take part in a lovely interview with the Sunday Times.

Our residents gathered together for an early Christmas celebration filled with singing, dancing, and festive cheer. Everyone had a wonderful time, and our residents were especially pleased to share their thoughts and answer questions from the Sunday Times team. It was a joyful and memorable experience for all!.

❤️ A Truly Special Dance ❤️

Residents at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home in enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea Dance at Brangwyn Hall recently.

A particularly special moment was captured of resident Dennis, aged 101, showing his brilliant dance moves. When asked what inspired him to get up and dance, he said: “I imagined I was dancing with my wife!”

⭐ Congratulations, Bedewell Grange! ⭐

It’s been a day of celebrations at Bedewell Grange Care Home in , following a recent Care Quality Commission inspection.

The home received an overall rating of ‘Good’, with an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the Caring category, a true testament to the hard work and commitment of all team members.

To mark the occasion, the team welcomed special visitors and enjoyed delicious treats and pastries, all topped off with a homemade cake prepared by Head Chef Andie.

Well done to everyone on this amazing achievement. 👏

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺

Residents, patients, colleagues and families came together to commemorate Remembrance Day and joined the rest of the nation in holding a two-minute silence at 11am.

As well as marking Remembrance Day by wearing poppies and watching the televised service from the Cenotaph, residents and patients created beautiful themed displays, laid wreaths, attended church services and read war poems to honour the contribution of everyone involved in the World Wars and in subsequent conflicts.

🎉 Happy 106th Birthday, Sheila! 🎉

It was celebrations all round at Alice Grange Care Home in as Sheila marked her 106th birthday in style.

Her day began with a pamper morning, followed by visits from friends, staff and fellow residents. Sheila also received over 106 birthday cards from well-wishers across the country, including one from King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The celebrations ended with a party for friends and family, complete with live music from SuffolkSinger Gina.

Sheila even made the news – and revealed her secret to a long life: “Having lots of boyfriends!” 😄

Residents, patients and colleagues got into the Halloween spirit of things by creating beautiful autumnal displays with painted and carved pumpkins, flowers and wreaths.

Many of our care homes and hospitals hosted fun-filled Halloween events with delicious treats, mocktails, live music entertainment, costume competitions and community celebrations.

It's safe to say that everyone had a spooktacular time. 👻

👻🎃 Bewitching Tricks and Spooky Treats 👻🎃

Springvale Court Care Home, in Wrekenton, , was a den of ghoulish activity as the home’s spooky Halloween Adams Family got into full swing.

Colleagues embraced the spirit of Halloween by dressing up as The Addams Family. Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, Cousin Itt and Lurch all visited Trinity Square in Gateshead town centre to hand out goodie bags for children and adults, and everyone had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Addams Family.

General Manager, Gemma Rooney, shared: “Our staff love any excuse for fancy dress day! – we’ve all had a brilliant time.”

The team at Springvale Court commented: “It has been such a fun day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Halloween spirit. And seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces’’.
