We’re thrilled to share groundbreaking findings from the WAX trial, led by and published in The Lancet. This study could revolutionize the way we approach recovery from ankle fractures. Here are the key takeaways:

🚶‍♂️ **Early Weight-Bearing:** Patients started walking on their repaired ankles just two weeks post-surgery instead of the traditional six weeks.

✔️ **Safety and Effectiveness:** The trial showed that early weight-bearing is as safe and effective as the traditional delayed approach. Patients experienced comparable, if not better, outcomes in ankle function and recovery.

💰 **Cost-Effective:** Early weight-bearing can potentially reduce healthcare costs by minimizing complications and the need for prolonged rehabilitation.

🦵 **Better Recovery:** Patients who began early weight-bearing reported less stiffness and muscle atrophy, leading to faster and more comfortable recovery phases.

🌍 **Transformative Impact:** These findings have the potential to change standard care protocols, benefiting thousands of patients annually and influencing broader orthopedic practices.
