We remember

For , here is a red poppy made by British artist Mary Delany in 1779.

Former Museum Keeper Laurence Binyon wrote the words of the ‘Ode of Remembrance’, which are inscribed on our War Memorial:

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”

The Museum will observe the two-minute silence today at 11.00, and again on Remembrance Sunday.

Ottobre è il mio mese preferito perché iniziamo due raccolti nella nostra fattoria. Adesso è il momento delle noci e tra due settimane si comincia con le nostre olive.
Le nostre noci sono locali ed è una varietà molto antica. Il sapore è incredibile e il gusto è così buono. Anche le noci sono molto salutari.

October is my fav month because we start two harvest in our farm. Now is time of walnuts and in two weeks we start with our olives.
Our walnuts are local and is a very old variety. The flavor is amazing and the taste is so good. The walnuts are very healthy too.

in my private collection I found this very beautiful photo. it is a small shop in a small town in Sicily, Piana degli Albanesi. I remember this shop that no longer exists, I was a small child. everything was sold in this shop. But the thing that still strikes me most are the smiles of the three sisters who were in the shop and the customer. I am pleased to share this memory with you.

Nella mia collezione privata ho trovato questa foto molto bella. si tratta di un piccolo negozio di un piccolo paese in sicilia, Piana degli Albanesi. Io mi ricordo di questo negozio che adesso non esiste più, io ero un piccolo bambino. in questo negozio si vendeva di tutto. Ma la cosa che più mi colpisce ancora sono i sorrisi delle tre sorelle che stavano nel negozio e della cliente. Mi fa piacere condividere questo ricordo con voi.
