Hi everyone, I just wanted to write a quick message to say thank you so much for all your comments after I shared about having shingles. I honestly didn’t expect such a lovely response, and I really hope some of you found the video helpful.

I’ve been reading your comments on both Facebook and Instagram, and there are some really great questions. I’m hoping to do a follow-up video in the next few days to answer as many of those as I can, as I couldn’t fit everything into the first one.

Just as a little update, I’m feeling a lot better now. It’s been nearly two weeks since I was diagnosed, and I was very lucky to catch it early and start treatment within 24 hours of noticing symptoms. The pain has improved a lot over the last few days which is great news!

Also, thankfully Belle isn’t showing any symptoms of chickenpox so far. She’s the only one in the house who could be at risk, so that’s been the biggest relief.

Thank you again everyone for your support and kind messages, I really appreciate it! ❤️❤️

Surely I am not the only one that thinks the numbers don't add up (humour me at least) 😂🫣

Such a different feeling this evening! There’s no doubt, parents are busy however many children you have and I take my hat off to all parents, whether you have 1,2,3 or 10 kids! But the house definitely feels quiet and strange. Looking forward to having Millie and Theo back tomorrow! 🥰

What better way to kick off the Easter half term than a little baking 🐣🍫

I don’t know about anyone else, but I LOVE a rocky road, no oven, minimal fuss, and usually made with bits you already have in the cupboard. And this one has mini eggs, so it was always going to be a win. Super easy, great one to do with the kids, and definitely worth the wait once it’s set.

Ingredients:
– 175g dark chocolate
– 125g milk chocolate
– 2 tbsp golden syrup
– 75g unsalted butter
– 160g mini eggs
– 200g digestives or rich tea biscuits
– 75g mini marshmallows
– 50g hazelnuts (we used pecans)
– 75g raisins

Method:
1. Line a 20x30cm tin with baking paper.
2. Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup together (microwave or over a pan of simmering water), stirring until smooth. Leave to cool slightly so the marshmallows don’t melt.
3. Fold in the biscuits, marshmallows, nuts, raisins and most of the chopped mini eggs.
4. Spoon into the tin, level it out, then top with the remaining mini eggs.
5. Pop in the fridge for at least an hour until set, then slice and enjoy 💛

A little health update, this week I was unexpectedly diagnosed with shingles. So I thought I’d do a quick video to explain what it is, in the hope it helps raise awareness for anyone who might not be familiar.

In short, shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash. One of the most common questions is whether it’s contagious. You can’t pass shingles on to someone else, but you can pass on the virus as chickenpox to someone who hasn’t had it before or hasn’t been vaccinated.

It’s best to avoid contact with:
– anyone who is pregnant and hasn’t had chickenpox before
– people with a weakened immune system (for example, those having chemotherapy)
– babies under 1 month old

As always, do refer to the NHS website for more information, and seek medical advice if you’re unsure about anything. Let’s just say… not exactly how I planned to spend the week, but a good reminder to listen to your body and get things checked if something doesn’t feel right 💙

Running late for the school pick-up, but I had to share this. I’ve been living in my new Delta Roam coat, it’s completely waterproof, super warm, and ideal on the school pick up I couldn’t recommend it enough. If you fancy one, use my code EMILY92092 for a little discount at checkout ☺️

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with how well he did. I do have to agree though… “kitten heel” isn’t the most logical name for a small heel. Part 2 pending 👀😂

Nosebleeds can feel really scary when they happen, especially with little ones But they’re actually very common, and knowing what to do can really help you stay calm in the moment.

Here’s a simple guide:
1. Stay calm: Try to reassure your child and keep them relaxed.

2. Pinch the soft part of the nose (just above the nostrils)

3. Hold firmly for 10–15 minutes: Without checking too early.

4. Breathe through the mouth

5. Afterwards, avoid:
– Blowing the nose
– Picking
– Hot drinks
– Heavy activity

And as always, trust your instincts, if it doesn’t stop or something doesn’t feel right, do seek medical advice. For full guidance, head to the NHS website. Save this for later, just in case🩸💙
