IMMUNE FUNCTION IN FERTILITY:

There a certain signs in a patients story that could alert you to an overactive immune system but you have to be looking for them.

Optimising fertility is hugely centred around calming and reducing inflammation systemically. However, although we search for all the sources, sometimes that is not enough and you are prompted to dig a little deeper to understand why conception is not taking place. This can and often does lead to testing their immune system. Is it on high alert? Is it too active to accept an incoming, foreign, s***m? Is there more to it? Is there a genetic predisposition to rejecting your partners s***m?

If you have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility but no root cause has been established, has your immune system and your tolerance to your partner been tested?

Even better- there is treatment and it is very often, very successful.

BRAIN& FERTILITY:

By default most of us overuse our brains daily. This takes its toll on your internal energy abundance and subsequently on your body. Anything that depletes energy, reduces your fertility.

Addressing the brain, and supporting it, in addition to supporting Mitochondrial health, is a key element used in the approach to fertility optimisation and uncovering the WHY in unexplained infertility.

S***M

S***m parameters can be transformed over the course of three months if they need to be. Small, targeted changes can make a very big difference.

Not only is this absolutely vital for fertility and conception it is also important for the future health of the baby and their babies!

If you’re not wrapped up in the world of fertility, then remember that this is a marker of your health, just like a blood test can be. If your numbers are not optimal, there will be a root cause for that.

Get help. Get tested. Feel great.

CHOLESTEROL:

We focus on HIGH LEVELS all the time but let’s have a think about what LOW levels can mean for you, your hormones and your health.

Low cholesterol is a sign of imbalance, another signal from your body that something deep down isn’t quite right.

If you have had yours tested, look back and check, are my levels low?

Everything can be fixed, once you know what you are looking for.

THINK:
-comprehensive blood testing for thyroid, liver, b-vitamins, cholesterols, hormones, DHEA levels.
-DUTCH test for hormone synthesis/cortisol
-comprehensive stool test (fat absorption/ inflammation)
-working with a root cause physician.

PROLACTIN:

Most people come to me having tested their prolactin when investigating absent menstrual cycles, affected cycles or infertility BUT many come stating it is normal. Often, on review, I find the levels to be slightly elevated or higher end of a normal range. OR, on questioning the test was conducted at the wrong time in the day on in the cycle.

Make sure your prolactin is not playing a role in your fertility struggles or your cycle disruption. It can be a sign for a deeper, root cause, that needs to be addressed.

Remember: fertility and ovulation is a compilation of lots of small things going right. Address the small things and big things fall into place.

Happy Sunday ❤️

Mitochondrial health is a neglected facet of wellness. Often we try to find answers everywhere except for in the mitochondria themselves. Evaluating mitochondrial energy and targeting its regeneration is a foundational step to building a better, stronger and more resilient body with fewer symptoms.

If you have tried it all when it comes to your health, stop and question if you have considered and specifically addressed your Mitochondrial health?

Modern day living does not do our mitochondria any favours. However, there are plenty of ways we can actively support and regenerate. The body desperately needs energy for repair and healing, energy slows aging.

Estrogen clearance is dependent on methylation, bile production and flow, liver health and finally the gut through binding and excretion. If there are flaws in any of these functions you run the risk of accumulating estrogen. Estrogen does a lot of good but it can also do a lot of bad.

Dutch hormone testing can show us how you are methylating and also what type of estrogen your are making. We want to make the ‘good’ type known as 2-OH, and less of the bad 4-OH.

Your in-depth medical history can also offer up many hints at flaws in these functions.

Finally, well timed blood testing can also give us good insights into estrogen accumulation or dominance.

The important thing…. If you are accumulating estrogen it can be fixed and reversed, so it is worth finding out.

It takes two: S***m are an undervalued player in the making of a healthy baby. S***m health is on a severe decline. The world health organisation has even lowered their range of ‘normal’ to account for the stark decline in quality. At Mi health, we only want optimal due to the vital role the s***m plays for the future health of the baby and of course conception and pregnancy. S***m facts: 1. 50% of your child DNA and therefore 50% of their future health. 2. Initiates and provides energy for the early divisions of the embryo, the cells to make your baby. 3. healthy s***m reduces miscarriage rates, birth defects and developmental issues 4. Its the dominant force behind the quality of the placenta. Fragmented s***m, high DNA damage can increase the chance of preeclampsia, growth restriction and preterm birth. ***mhealthtips ***mhealth

Thyroid health is a key cornerstone to fertility and health. More often than not, patients only have their TSH or T4 level tested. This is not the full story. T3 is the active thyroid hormone- it does 80% of the work in the body. Testing it is important to help understand symptoms and fertility struggles.
