Welcome to the world Rosa Jasmine 🌹♥️

A dramatic entrance with a traumatic birth complication and getting through two surgeries within a week, but we did it and are slowly getting through each day by day with still a long way to go to full recovery.

I am the 1 in 2,000 statistic of a suture complication, I was the 1 person per year who needed the second corrective surgery where they re-open you to multiple injections into your sore raw wound because there had been a knot in the final stitch. And I will have an awful scar as a result, but I’ll take the scar as a sign of everything I’ve been through from infertility to ivf loss to birth trauma and see it as a blessing that I have two beautiful and wonderful girls who bring me so much joy, purpose and love every single day. 🙏🏼

Bring your child to work to speak at an event while being 7 months pregnant (surprise!!) 💖

I was honoured to be asked to speak at this event hosted by Anusol talking all things maternal health as a pharmacist specialising in women’s health and a new mum myself.

We spoke about everythinggg from motherhood, all the fun changes that happen postpartum that absolutely nobody warns us about, the hormonal crash and the fact it takes at least 2 years for our hormones to rebalance after giving birth, physical changes from our uterus expanding and the way these physical health changes lead to concerns such as haemorrhoids/piles and the deep link this has to maternal mental health with su***de being the leading cause of direct maternal death in the UK. There is so much we need to do but opening up the conversation is a step in the right direction.

🍑 40% of women develop piles during pregnancy or shortly after giving birth due to these physiological changes. That is a huge number! The good news is your pharmacist is always here to help as there are lots of treatment options available and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about.

Huge thank you for hosting a wonderful event today!! Here’s why I loved it…

I met some of my absolute favourite medical creators irl including these incredible doctors and inspiring pharmacists - this was actually the VERY first event I’ve been to where I’ve seen female pharmacists take up space at a huge skincare event in this capacity!! 🙌🏼💊 can you tell I’m excited about it?!😅

Everyone I spoke to had really positive things to say about pharmacists - and it’s true that we are often the very first healthcare professionals that patients come to see to treat common skin conditions (eg dry skin/eczema/acne). We have really seen it all! We also spoke in depth about Topical Steroid Withdrawal, the science & studies behind Cerave and so excited to show you more of what we created!!✨
